What possessed them to do it? when kids are not brought up to pay their own penalties does not help but then I remember some stupid things I did even though I was brought up to know who paid so can`t say much.
I was TDY TO Baghdad during the Iran-Iraq war. Several of westerners gathered at a hotel bar for drinks once a week. There was one American lady in our group. She was always waiting for word of her husband, who was an Iraqi citizen who was conscripted when they went to Iraq to visit his family. His unit was in the south and was engaged with the Iranian fanatics daily. She was still waiting when I left.
