Wal-Mart is taking one-stop shopping to another area: health insurance.
The worlds largest retailer plans to work with DirectHealth.com, an online health insurance comparison site and agency, to allow shoppers to compare coverage options and enroll in Medicare plans or the public exchange plans created under the Affordable Care Act.
The strategy is another step into insurance marketing as the retailer tries to use its mammoth size to expand beyond food and other basics at a time of sluggish traffic and sales. It also could help Wal-Mart compete with drugstore chains such as Walgreen and CVS, which are rapidly adding health care services.

No sale.
Shop’s closed.
I’ve always wondered what percent of sales and profits for Walmart is from govt money - food stamps, WIC, etc...
Are these ‘clinics’ like Kroger’s Little Clinic, good for what a PA can treat and prescribe for? Give flu shots, take care of bug bites, that type stuff.
Minor Meds Suck, they can’t handle more than those little clinics.
I use the ER if I am in that urgent need of medical care. They can’t treat a Colitis Ileus attack because you think you are having a heart attack, or take care of my Hypothyroidism, or the torn rotator cuff or the spinal damage. I have a Gastro, ENDO, PCP and a Ortho. Now adding a audiologist to that for the twin hearing aids.
These type ‘clinic’s can’t handle those kind of health issues! nor can they do CT’s, Xrays, MRI’s, HIDDA for gallbladder, MRA’s, or start an IV.
How much you want to bet its ONLY with SEIU supported healthcare companies?
