Week 6 of the college football season was not kind to the nation's best teams in the AP Top 25 poll -- five of the top eight squads in the country incurred their first losses of the year. Down went No. 2 Oregon, No. 3 Alabama, No. 4 Oklahoma, No. 6 Texas A&M and No. 8 UCLA.

The losses provided the biggest rankings shakeup to date, with Ole Miss and Mississippi State joining the party inside the top five (both tied at No. 3) with victories over Alabama and Texas A&M, respectively.

One of the most exciting days of CFB in recent memory from start to finish, including the ASU miracle at the end plus the Utah win into the wee hours of the morning over ‘SC.

I said the same thing last night!

A very big test for State this Saturday though against #2 Auburn.

I am thoroughly ashamed of the Bruins.

Than, I have to remind myself, it, the game, involves a bunch of young boys chasing a funny-shaped ball, around a green, manicured, lawn.

Puts it all in perspective.

I think the LSU coach has the flim-flam ability of Obama.` The man can’t even concentrate on getting a good quarterback, and if he has one, he won’t let him play.

Ahem!

Stanford will beat ND this weekend, so it won’t matter where ND is now.

You were saying...?

11 of the Top 25 teams lost.

It’s shaping up for the final four.

FSU and Notre Dame will play each other, so the winner of that one will most likely be in the Final Four.

Miss/Miss St/Auburn still will all play one another, so that survivor will be another team.

Big game this week, TCU-Baylor, the winner will control their destiny.

Then should Michigan State/Ohio State run the table they probably could get in, if one of the other SEC teams doesn’t.

Where are all the Pac-10 homers now talking about how much better they are than the SEC?

How long do you think Hoke will last at Michigan?

Like Muschamp, he must have a real expensive buy-out, that's the only possible reason he's still there, but safe to say, he (and Muschamp) won't be back next season.

I'm glad Florida beat Tennessee and all, but it was still a disgusting display (although kudos to the defense). I can't believe Muschump put Driskel back in to take the final snaps after Treon won the game for them.

Michigan State is my alma mater but it would be a gift to have them in the top four unless the teams ahead of them get more losses.

MSU's schedule is pretty weak except for Ohio State and after the way they played in the second half last night I have my doubts if they can run the table. They did last night what they did against Oregon; relaxed in the second half and the only reason they did not lose was Nebraska is not as good as Oregon.

Michigan State must not only win all of their games to get in the top four but they must pour on the points. They have done so with a couple of teams this year but they also show they can let down and try to coast through a game. They need consistency.

Yeah, I think very well another SEC team could get ahead of the Big Ten winner.
