I lurked for more than 10 years before gathering the courage to sign up and post. The members in times past were stellar - I learned so much from wiser souls. And continue to learn from everyone here.
My husband is a long time, frequent poster, and I consider him one of the pithy ones. He’s smart as anything, and I just love having a Freeper around the house to inform me where I need informing. We have the best political discussions.
I am sorry to only add snark and smart-ass remarks where I can. I actually know a lot, but have always been intimidated here, because my nuggets and opinions can’t hold a candle to those that have gone before.

These days I don’t see many folks who understand what Agenda 21 is about. They still think the New World Order is a conspiracy. Then there’s the ones who are just worn out from fighting for the republican party and finally realizing that there’s no difference amongst the older legislators of either party. They scratch each others back and refuse to admit anything about collusion in the voting process. The never send someone to prison these days knowing they are just as vulnerable as their partner across the aisle.
The whole issue with the A-10 Warthog isn’t about winning wars. It’s about seeing that the military-industrial relationship stays strong so they can make generous and hearty political contributions come election time. You and I know the men on the ground need the A-10 Warthog but the politicians care about be re-elected much more strongly than they do about a soldiers life.
This crap about Ebola and shutting down the flights to Liberia won’t happen until 25 American citizens are sick in the critical care centers and everyone is screaming for a vaccine to save them. If no American children get sick, we won’t demand the pharmaceutical companies develop the vaccine. Zero wants to save the African/Muslim nations from themselves so he is going to make sure Ebola spreads here in America.

Boy, does that hurt to admit it. All my life, I have never been or felt counterculture.
But in that flash when I read your post, I felt like I knew how it feels to be counterculture. And I understand that, at least in my case, It is I who have remained somewhat stationary to my values, while the prevailing culture has moved away.
I know that is standard fare as one gets older, but...it is still an odd sensation.
It’s been so long I peacefully can’t remember for sure.

I've only got you beat by a couple months, but man, it seems like I've been reading here forever.
I think I started lurking in about 2003, when I was a member of another conservative forum. Freeper Josh Painter used to post links back to FR on that site, which led me here.
I've been sick with the addiction ever since.
These days I don’t see many folks who understand what Agenda 21 is about.
We live in an increasingly totalitarian and corrupt political culture.
There are still some libertarians around.
Now would be a good time to go donate some bucks to our host. jimrob and johnrob have persisted throughout the years to offer up this venue for our collective use.
Their efforts are the reason this thread exists!
