LITTLE ROCK, ARK. Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Mike Ross has unveiled a plan aimed at ensuring equal pay for women in the workplace.

Ross was joined Friday by his wife, daughter and current first lady Ginger Beebe to announce his proposal, which calls for strengthening state law to prevent retaliation against workers who discuss their wages with colleagues.

Ross also promised to publish an annual report about pay inequalities. He called his proposals bipartisan and says he's confident he could gain Republican support.

The former congressman used Friday's event to promote policies that he says would benefit women and girls — including more funding for prekindergarten programs, reauthorizing the state's Medicaid expansion plan and increasing Arkansas' minimum wage.

And the women who vote for him won't care if his proposal is accepted or even makes a difference. You go girls!

Silly liberals. Under the constitution all people are equal. It means how much each person gets paid is an agreement between them and their employer or customer. The only time the government can legally inject themself here is if someone is illegally discriminated against. And every case is personal and individual.

Good luck prooving these cases, unless they are real.

No “group” has rights. Only individuals have rights.

Show me evidence that women don’t already get the same pay as men for the same job. And if they don’t, there are already laws on the books to protect them.

Pander much?

I expect that he's right. The RINOcrats will pass this legislation because they don't get the concept that letting government set prices and salaries (as opposed to free markets) is one of the single impediments to general prosperity and one of the greatest drivers of economic stagnation.

Been in sales my entire life and the only thing that counts is results.

I have two friends who make more than me and they’re women, in sales.

Sales is a business of demonstrable truth and comp’d the same as a man.

Let’s take this to the next inevitable step. Attractive women are more employable than the fatties and haggard divorcees, so we will need a law to make sure one can be ugly and get paid the same as one who invests in their appearance or smell or personality or competence or commitment or experience or training or value. Maybe they could just make the good looking competent people less good looking and less competent as a tax - to level the playing field. Ugly incompetents unite!

Can someone please give me the name of one company that pays men more than women for the same job with the same time on the job and the same credentials.

From a business standpoint—If I can get the same, or more, work out of a woman as a man, and pay her less, why wouldn’t I hire women only and pocket the difference?
