On Thursday, Roberts will be joined by a special guest at the Independence Historical Museum and Art Center in Independence, Kan. A source close to the campaign said that guest is Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska who served as running mate in 2008 for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

I'll believe it when I see it...

As I see it, the situation is Kansas is simple - if Brownback folks vote for Roberts and Roberts folks vote for Brownback, then both win. Otherwise, they both lose.

At least for the next month and a half, the TEA Party and GOP-E people in Kansas need to maintain the pretense that they can get along, and everyone (except the Democrats) win. After that, go back to beating up on each other for all I care.

Lots of them are coming to Kansas to assist Roberts. Palin, McCain, Jeb Bush, Dole,
all are said to be on the way to help salvage the campaign.

Just when Palin is winning me over, she does something questionable. I was more likely to give Roberts the benefit of a doubt, but not if Jeb Bush is campaigning for him. I’m wondering what Sara Palin is thinking, campaigning the same places RINO backstabbers are campaigning.

Pat Roberts is 78 years old. He had a credible opponent in Milton Wolf (Obama’s cousin) running against him in the primary. Roberts ended up with 48% of the vote, Wolf 40%, and two fringe candidates had 5% each.

Can anyone more familiar with that race comment? Wolf, I believe, was found to have posted x-rays of dead people on Facebook. Was that significant in the election? Could Roberts have put either of the quack/fringe candidates up to it to split the anti-incumbent vote?

Palin wants to get the gavel out of Harry Reid’s hands. If she has to stump for Roberts to do it, she will.

Roberts getting a bit of a bad rap from his so called friends. Heritage Action rates him at 93% conservative voting record, per Breitbart. Get rid of the so called independent first who has already said he will vote with the Dems. He is pro abortion.

How about, she just doesn’t want a Democrat Senate?

Funny how, after all the GOP-E snark and backstabbing, they go running to her to save their sorry hides.

I suspect Palin is looking at the big picture rather than small slices. I think
she knows you damn sure don’t set the agenda with the democrats in charge.

how about she just doesn't want a dem Senate?

Having a majority that can ignore conservatives is not helpful. How about some demands that Cochran drop out and McDaniel get that nomination? The MS outrage is the bridge too far.

That’s sort of like having Tony Bennett open for Metallica.

It is, at this point, the lesser of two evils.

I’m one who would have the tea party organized as a shadow party to the corrupt GOP nationwide, pushing for more conservative GOP candidates until the day it can challenge the party directly. A USIP, if you will.

Until then, we’re at least marginally better off not letting the Dems keep the Senate.

It is at this point the lesser of two evils

THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS IS EVIL !!! Is there anything "lesser" about the RINO campaign against McDaniel in MS? About McCain and his terrorist buddies in Syria? About the way the likes of Kelly Ayotte and Jeff Flake violated just about every campaign promise they made? About the savaging of Ted Cruz by establishment Republicans? About Ryan and his Chamber of Commerce paymasters engineering the budget cave in? About Republicans who are more interested in cheap labor than in controlling our borders?

I don't see anything "lesser" about it. If conservatives aren't going to hold sway in the US Senate, let the dems have the mess. We're going down as a country anyway if we don't go back to constitutional conservative principles, and fast.

Mixing Jeb Bush and Sarah Palin seems very unlikely to me, but what do I know?

If Palin accepts the invitation, I will be disappointed.

What you said.

To which I’ll add, Roberts must have asked, since this time around, Palin made it VERY clear she will not go anywhere she is not asked.

Which means the GOP boys know they need help ...

FWIW, Bush and Palin are not appearing at the same event, their events are days apart, I believe.
