Kerry: World is 'On Track To Warm At Least 4 Degrees' in 20-40 Years
The Weekly Standard ^ | September 23, 2014 | Jeryl Bier

"Mother Nature ... is screaming at us about" climate change, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry told the crowd at the opening event of Climate Week NYC 2014. While Kerry used a more measured tone than that which he attributed to Mother Nature, the apocalyptic nature of his warnings were in keeping with her purported sentiment. Using projections that appear hyperbolic, even compared to the worst case scenarios presented in the latest United Nations International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, Kerry said that "we’re on track to warm at at least 4 degrees over the course of the next 20, 30, 40 years, and by the century, even more." Kerry linked the increase to more severe effects of "greenhouse gas levels" than scientists originally figured:

Global temperatures rose by 44 degrees in less than a decade at the end of the Younger Dryas, 9600 years ago. Humans weren’t responsible then, or now, for climate change.

It’s always 20 to 40 years with these scam artists. Long enough that they don’t have to answer to anyone.

Actually, Genghis Khan is revered by these people. He is supposed to have slaughtered so many people that what was once agricultural land reverted to forests and cooled the planet.

I am a scientist with a PhD in the study of the futility of self-immolation and whole grain cereals.

So I believe I am as qualified as Mademoiselle Kerry to predict a future catastrophe.

The wind turbines will cause the earth’s spin to increase and we will experience a dramatic cooling even with day length shortened only a few milliseconds. The global warming will exactly offset this cooling and God’s will be done.

Time pieces will have to be reworked and the Swiss will rule the world.

In the year 2525 give or take a few seconds.

SOS Kerry is about 20 years behind the temperature curve, according to real thermometers and observable facts. But global warming isn’t about science. It is about plantation politics, and controlling the slaves.

The closer we get to the mid-terms, the more desperate these loons are getting.

That's good news Kerry! We are way behind the curve since there hasn't been any warming for 17 years and counting! I'm sure your claim there Kerry is based on solid, verifiable, repeatable, and defensible science, right? You wouldn't be exaggerating. You (or your fellow scammers) wouldn't have arbitrarily fooled with the numbers (again) to get the output you wanted. .... {Snort}

Fun diversion – How long until Antarctic ice touches South America?
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2014/09/23/fun-diversion-how-long-until-antarctic-ice-touches-south-america/

At say 300,000 square miles growth per year (lets not forget, this year busted records by 600,000 square miles), and via my drastically simplified calculation, we could expect Antarctic ice to close the Drake passage in 36 years – by 2050.

Interestingly 2055 – 2060 is the peak of the coming Little Ice Age event predicted by Dr. Khabibullo Abdusamatov, head of the space research sector of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ astronomical observatory, in his press release in 2006.

The start of that four degree rise will be whatever date was four degrees cooler. It could be 2008, or 1811, or 1224, or 6450 BC, or late Paleolithic.

Doesn't matter - man's fault.

Pretty good meteorology from a C- student and BCD sailor.

Q: John, are those degrees Centigrade or Fahrenheit?

A: What? There's a difference?

You think that’s bad. Here’s what Kerry says causes global warming:

“This is simple. Kids at the earliest age can understand this. Try and picture a very thin layer of gases – a quarter-inch, half an inch, somewhere in that vicinity – that’s how thick it is. It’s in our atmosphere. It’s way up there at the edge of the atmosphere. And for millions of years – literally millions of years – we know that layer has acted like a thermal blanket for the planet – trapping the sun’s heat and warming the surface of the Earth to the ideal, life-sustaining temperature.

“But in modern times, as human beings have emitted gases into the air that come from all the things we do, that blanket has grown thicker and it traps more and more heat beneath it, raising the temperature of the planet. It’s called the greenhouse effect because it works exactly like a greenhouse in which you grow a lot of the fruit that you eat.”
