Well, it’s not bad, considering that in the U.S. it’s okay for a grown man to do business with a 12 or 13 year old boy, but oh the attrocity if a grown man does something with a teenaged or slightly older girl. Double standard, anyone?
It’s not a double standard; it’s two standards. Although the law may not be different, everyone knows girls and boys are different. Nit that they’re always as different as we think of them, and they may be different the other way around depending ln the perpetrator. But come on.
It depends on what the “something” is, too, what kind of 13 year old it is, and the nature of the act (was it outright violence, or was there complicity). And I don’t want to seem callous, but one thing at least seoerates them: boys can’t get pregnant.
