For today's feature, we honor the memory of 2 stars who died this year: Polly Bergen who passed away yesterday and James Garner who we lost in July. It's Garner's and Miss Bergen's only film together as they play a newlywed couple whose honeymoon is rather interestingly interrupted by the appearance his believed dead 1st wife(Doris Day) after she's just been rescued off a desert island. Needless to say, things get more complicated.

“Move Over, Darling is a 1963 remake of the 1940 screwball comedy My Favorite Wife that starred Irene Dunne, Cary Grant, Randolph Scott and Gail Patrick.”

Also a great movie.

This movie was also the film that Marilyn Monroe was making when she died. The same script was named “Something’s Got To Give” with Monroe in the Doris Day role and Dean Martin in the Garner role. Cyd Charise was the Polly Bergen role.

Once Monroe died, the project was scrapped as Martin not want to work with anyone else. Some of the sets in this film were the same ones used for SGTG.

Apparently, lots of people remember this movie. I grew up on old movies. My dad used to watch them with us, so I developed the habit.
