Nature of war: Chimps inherently violent
Science Daily ^ | September 17, 2014 | Lincoln Park Zoo

Of all of the world's species, humans and chimpanzees are some of the only to engage in coordinated attacks on other members of their same species. Jane Goodall was among the first to introduce the occurrence of lethal inter-community killings and since then primatologists and anthropologists have long debated the concept of warfare in this genus. Research theories have pointed to increased gains and benefits of killing off competitors and opening up increased access to key resources such as food or mates. In contrast, others have argued that warfare is a result of human impact on chimpanzees, such as habitat destruction or food provisioning, rather than adaptive strategies.

Warfare was the special pressure that drove intelligence far beyond what was needed for basic survival. It is deeply woven into our nature and cannot be removed. Leftist academics have been proven wrong again.

So when wolves do it, it’s uncoordinated?

Of all of the world’s species, humans and chimpanzees are some of the only to engage in coordinated attacks on other members of their same species.

I would have included baboons, who are even worse than chimps.

But, ants make war on other ants. Coyotes eat foxes, and wolves eat coyotes. They all eat domestic dogs!

You usually hear this sort of crap from people that start out by saying, “Only humans make war on other humans.” This idiot did at least include the chimps.

War, as in fighting for survival, is the natural state of nature. Peace is a purely theoretical condition, and only exists due to occasional pauses in the fighting. Usually to reload!

It's long been known that male cats, if given the chance will kill a litter of kittens. Unless they're his litter. While it's not warfare, it sure is an act of violence.

...others have argued that warfare is a result of human impact on chimpanzees...

Anyone who makes that argument should have his/her PhD taken away and be banned from calling themselves a scientist.

All territorial animals will fight their own species. Otherwise we would not classify them as territorial.

Wolves. They'll pack attack other wolves to control territory.
