Calling all 90s kids: Surge is back.
Coca-Cola unveiled the citrus-flavored soda in 1996 as an answer to Pepsis Mountain Dew. But SURGE couldnt compete and was taken off shelves in 2001, to the dismay of what had become a cult-like following.
Thousands of passionate fans have been fighting for its return for years, and today they tasted victory.
This is just a test, said Coca Cola spokeswoman Sheree Robinson.
It has a big fan base, however, were not sure how that will translate into sales, she said.

"Snakes on a Plane" had a big fan base, too.

Loved the stuff when I was a kid.

I thought Mello Yellow was Coke’s answer to Mountain Dew.
PS - ...I’ll take the crab juice.

Didn’t care for Surge, enjoyed Jolt Cola, I really miss Ecto Cooler though.
To: Rio
Love Cheerwine. It’s a cherry soda made in North Carolina. They have a diet version also. It’s hard to find around the ATL area.
To: BBB333
Wow, $6.09 for an eight ounce box. I’ve seen it available at a store near me.

Faygo’s Moon Mist is pretty good, and it’s much cheaper.
To: mountn man
Yeah, I remember Jolt Cola. Too bad it went away.

Surge was pretty much Mello Yello with extra caffeine IIRC. I remember trying it and not liking it - my kids liked it though.
