The BBC announced today that they have removed a beheading scene from this Sundays episode of Doctor Who in light of the recent beheadings of journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff by Islamic State militants. This week's episode is set in medieval England, and the scene in question is believed to occur during a fight between Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham. In light of recent news events, we have made an edit to episode three out of respect, said the BBC in a statement.

LOL!
Painting titled “Avoid This Barber School At All Cost.”
See it?
The 1st time I saw it, I came around a corner, behind some faux column and came face to face with this life size portrait.
The colors, size, the extreme details and the head separated down a stair took my breath away.
Keep in mind I had been to the Picasso museum and spent an hour admiring the duality of man vs beast in “The Bull Fighter”.
My favorite portrait ever and I have a copy above my desk to remind me of what it takes to live fully.
Wish I owned the original but, will be happy to for a copy someday, so I can take in the lighting and shadow of the brush strokes as various and different light conditions changes it.
Probably be a short lived pain in the neck...
Hmmm...think I’ll go back to Paris this winter.
To make up for it, SyFy is running Spartacus, and there are plenty of beheadings in that series.
lol.
I never saw it before you posted it, definitely not life-sized. That must have been something for you.
The bravest getting the ax was Thomas More, but then I guess he was grateful to Henry for rescinding, the original sentence of being garroted followed by being drawn and quartered.
The most gruesome was Thomas Cromwell's execution. The executioner was drunk and by the 5 chop, the Beefeater took over and finished him off.
tough crowd
Yeah but, who will prevail?
See, it’s not certain.
You have a sense of the beast, programmed by a brutish and unthinking will to live.
Then, you have the huma agressor who has twk thumbs and can formulate a strategy to gracefully and with aplomb end the battle.
But, what happens when the two collide and an error is made by the thinker?
He can resort to his brutish nature and will his mind to formulate a strategy to win but, it must be accompanied by his brutish nature if he wishes to survive.
And that’s life.
Many times we display an artful and amazing series of acts that enable us to look “Mahvelous!” while achieving our end game, and other times it’s just gonna require an amazing flourish of less graceful actions but, make no mistake, you can win...it’s always a matter of will.
Love this portrait.
Wish I were Thomas Crowne and I’d steal it, so I could admire it’s beauty, in private, as I smoked an Ashton cigar and imbibed a wonderful cognac.
Will Showtime have to rewrite “The Tudors”?
They seek him here
They seek him there
The Frenchies seek him everywhere
That damned elusive Pempernile
