Only volunteers will be selected to go to Venus.
It’s not intentionally a one-way trip, but it will be easier to get to the right place in Venus’ atmosphere than it will be to come back out unto space again.
Therefore, those who go should be prepared to stay.
Of course, even having arrived in Venus orbit, it could be a while before we set up an atmosphere station. A lot of work may need to be done first in orbit.
Without being able to get out again, there’s hardly any reason to go. Venus stands ready to supply the whole solar system with market goods, produce, and raw materials based on carbon dioxide. Things like ... air, for instance. Your moon-base could use air, couldn’t it?
But we need an up-elevator operating there before we commit to going down.
Might want to talk with Face. Face got us out of there last time. Don’t know how it was done. Was in delusional state having one nightmare after another. Face be stronger than me. You certain we don’t have an up elevator out there capable. Face, made it look easy but what do I know ... Nothing ... Nothing.
