A "marvellous" US stage and television actress has died after a tree fell on her during a violent storm in Chicago.
Molly Glynn, who had roles in TV shows including Chicago Fire, Boss and Early Edition, was cycling with her husband when she was hit.
The accident happened on Friday and the 46-year-old woman was taken to hospital where she later died from her injuries.

I was in Chicago on Friday. It was a really bad storm and I was glad I was parked.
I worked as an actor for over twenty years. My IQ is around 140.
Probably wasn’t wearing a helmet...
Generalize much?
Did 12 miles.
When I started it was sunny but some clouds in the distance. Half way through I could see clouds getting closer. 3/4's of the way I knew a storm, not just rain, was coming. I made it home, maybe an hour before it hit. But I was very aware it was moving in.
If they were out for a longer ride, its very possible they got caught.
The storm seemed to hop scotch where it hit hard at. My area was dead center of a blast. Trees all around were breaking of LARGE branches or trunks. 3 or 4 blocks in any directions, minor tree damage of little branches broken off. Then friends 3 miles away had the same major damage. They're still without power.
I wouldn’t be posting less than 72 hours after I lost my wife, but that’s just me. Many of the under 40 y/o’s have grown up keeping a diary of their lives online. For him, writing about it was most likely cathartic or therapeutic. Secondly, maybe he’s the type to never open up to people when face to face, so he shares this here. Then again, he may be nervously trying to explain that, no, he did not do anything to cause her death, and was not there to have prevented it. Maybe her family is giving him a hard time.
You sure woke up some stupids with this post.
Husband is Joe Foust, a fellow actor. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1724467/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm
I don’t see that he had any real big roles
The bike ride was killed by the tree?
What a headline.
Darn right. Florida lightening storms can come up very fast. Sunny at your home 8 miles down the road a downpour with big bolts coming down everywhere!
“Yes, she is an actress which means she has an IQ of about 85 or 86 so cycling during a violent storm is something she would not see as dangerous.”
Your crass comment is entirely uncalled for in this forum. I have cycled thousands of miles in my life. I have been caught in violent storms when cycling away from home or shelter. I was once caught in a violent sleet/snow storm mountain climing in Northern Ireland in early June...the day started out sunny and warm and the storm was unexpected. I was about 9 miles from shelter and had to tough it out. My IQ is Mensa level...
Geena Davis is a Mensan
Suzanne Somers is is no slouch, lots of intellectual achievements
Danika McKellar has a Doctorate in Math and has written books encouraging girls to excel in Math
etc....
Rest in peace, Ms. Glynn.
No breaks for Chicago! If it's not the murders, it's the falling objects! Just the other day, Sarah Bean was killed when a gargoyle fell of a church at 1936 S Michigan Avenue and landed on her head.
We went for a walk last week; serious storm came up out of nowhere. It happens.
Prayers for her soul, and for comfort for her family.
And let’s not forget Mayim Balik who not only plays a scientist on the big bank theory, but actually has a PhD in neurobiology (or something like that). She’s nutty, yes, but she ain’t dumb. And she’s funny as heck, which is a lot rarer than being smart.
I saw that the other day. Just wow! To the others on here giving her crap. Storms can come up really fast on the Great Lakes. You’d be stunned at the ship wrecks.
