Lately, reading news links from Free Republic is getting insufferable. It seems that 95 percent of the news sources are mined with scripts and the like that want access to your computer or run time consuming ads.
Trying to figure out the security settings for IE browser has become a real challenge. I think I need to hire a full time IT expert just top read the news.
Does anyone know of a web source that can help me get the best settings to stop the sneaks but yet still allow me ample access to these sites?
Ungg
I thought this was going in the Ungghhhhhhhhhhhh direction.
If you want to read the full story, you have to go to the source link. That's where you get attacked. I like to read more than the title and the first paragraph of the story.
“Two lines of freepers armed with beebers set to stune.”
That is the funniest line that I’ve ever read in my life! LMAO!!
Place the ‘news’ site in your ‘restricted’ sites.
Ah.
Looks like you clicked on some “New Media”.. a filthy disease laden blog full of stolen material and Ebola.
May God have mercy upon your soul.
Yes, the scripts on a lot of these sites are getting out of control. UK sites are the worst offenders, putting dozens of ads on the page. The sites are designed for users with fast connections, but that doesn’t include me.
If you’ve ever been stuned you’d know it’s
no laughing matter, not to mention there is
probably a moose at the end...

Then I’ll definitely not send my sister! O.O
What is a gGuntlet?
New fangled stuff is creepy.
Firefox with NoScript and AdBlock. Opera with Ghostery.
LOL...
Firefox with Adblock Plus (stops ads) and Ghostery (stops web redirects) installed as add-ons.
You can also add a full no-script if you like.
Ghostery and AdBlock Plus easie peasie. I recommend Pale Moon for a browser.
That would be hugh and series.
No, supposedly I have High Speed DSL thru AT&T./.......
I don't know what the issue is but I have lots of download problems when I click on the links to other news sites........They take me forever.....
That is good.
Google collects far to much personal info. The owner gets greedier and greedier as competition for insurance underwriting using google instead of Experian is the desire. Many more are in this same game.
THX I just installed it. How do I install the old bookmarks. Chrome does not seem to have a lot of tools.
THX in advance
I have opera mini on my phone. It’s amazing what it will do. I should try it on my ‘puter.
