Same Bravo Sierra as years past -———— YUCK!
just lost the game for y'all!
The Pack came out of the gate quick, but the Hawks D was just too much. Those two guys getting hurt at the same time was a bummer, don’t like to see that.
I'm just gonna sit here
awhile Gadzooks, big-- Don't drink all the beer...
I may need to join you Sunday night!
What do you think Bend will say when he finds out I drank it all?
Sorry Bend...
Is it possible to lose money with the NFL? I think you or I could run it.
Hey Bender there is report look like Raider may be staying in Oatkwon according to Frisco TV station maybe deal has reach where Raiders may finally get new crib in Oaktown
Here the article bender about the Raiders
They are not coming back to SO CAL
In the short term sure anybody could make money with the NFL. The trick is putting in a position to continue to grow, with massive growth. People forget that the final few years under Tagliabue things weren’t actually in very good shape. They had a CBA that all the owners hated and were planning on taking the opt out he’d put in to get it signed, players were making headlines with legal troubles on an almost daily basis in his last off season, plus of course it was under Tag’s watch that the league issued “studies” that showed concussions had no long term effects. The end of his reign was marked by a lot of postponing of problems. Postponed to land right in Goodell’s lap.
From that Goodell has gotten the league’s longest CBA, their longest TV deals, a dramatic reduction in off field issues, settled the concussion lawsuit in a way that’s so far is working out to be at least publicity neutral, grown the international market, and is reducing the injury rate.
I think I could have run the league better than Tags did in his final few years (overall I think he was a good commish, but he was very obviously burned out in the end), but not as well as Goodell. Not saying he hasn’t made mistakes, certainly the Rice suspension was just poorly played, but even then he corrects them. Now the NFL is the only league with a domestic abuse policy, it’s good PR and will help if the situation comes up again, especially when it comes up for other leagues.
Actually I kinda believe concussion story I saw that PBS Frontline about NFL they really tore a** out of NFL on that ESPN was force drop their cooperation on investigate piece because ESPN was “threated” by NFL drop out of story OR ELSE
I didn’t actually see the Frontline ep, but the concussion situation is one I’ve been following for a few years now (since Chris Henry’s autopsies) so I had a pretty good idea of what they were going to say.
The league did a lot of bad stuff leading up to the concussion situation. Starting with the early 90s “study” I mentioned, which also excused them to not treat various brain problems as “game related” and therefore not cover the treatments under the retired player insurance program, and continuing through their very slow adoption process of new helmets that have shown to reduce the likelihood of concussions. But they’re getting better, the settlement did a lot (the biggest part being the largely unreported now calling brain damage “game related” and covering the treatments), new rules are doing a lot (concussions were down a lot last year, and ACL injuries were also down slightly which seems to put the lie to the argument that if they can’t hit the head they’ll hit the knees), and they’ve sped up the helmet adoption.
I wasn’t surprised when they threatened ESPN either. I’m sure a big part of the reason they settled the case is they didn’t want how they paid people to lie to their players part of a court transcript, and really having that broadcast on ESPN wouldn’t have been much better.
I drank it all? Easy to solve, big. You have until Sunday...
around 6 PM to buy more.
Glad to hear your Waiders are staying on the Looney Left Coast...
and now San Antonio can get the Jacksonville Jags to move there.
And Daniel Snyder can then move his re-named Deadskins to the People's Republic of Austin. They...
deserve one another.
In honor of my new College Hero, "Kenny Thrill'a!" I am saying the Aggies...
will enjoy their bye against Lamar.
BYU will take no prisoners when they play Texas in Austin...
and they may pick up a gaggle of new wives to tote back to Utah as they are some good looking empty-headed left wing dolls down there.
HEY I willing take for FR NFL Team and bring Raiders back to LA Oh well least they stay in my cousin hood up in Bay area it all good
We would get NFL team now I think we may get San Diego Chargers or ST Louis Lambs
NFL need Los Angeles we are 2 biggest market on TV COME ON we don’t have NO NFL Team
I am going see USC and Stanford game on local ABC station here
