I think there was a time in which the left owned the blues but things have come full circle to a point in which we own the blues.
The Blues will never go away and conservatives need to push this into our culture. IMHO
The "Blues" cuts to the core of virtually everything that matters.
I will put forth my modern and somewhat obscure samples, as I hope to see yours.
Howlin’ Wolf live in Toronto 1970 (footage), the man knows how to make an entrance

The Doors can be seen in one of the limos (they also played as did Alice Cooper and Gene Vincent).

Was it big in Reno?

No, but you just gave me a great idea for my next blues hit song, Burning Man Blues!! By Smokey Cottonmouth Nixon.
Got to catch Johnny Winter in a 3 piece band at (I want to say) The Lonestar Cafe in NYC, July 4th 1979 (or so)...the man wore out his guitar. Every song played had a 3 minute-plus riff.
Here’s “I Wonder” from Humble Pie (Steve Marriot’s voice makes it):

And here’s the Pie doing “For Your Love” acoustic, set to a bluesy motif (again, Marriot blows it out of the water)

Well, I should have provided credit:

Not sure about today but in 1970 Albert King owned the blues:

Charlie Patton owns the blues - everybody else just rents from him.

Albert King, a former bulldozer operator, is still my vote for the King. Well, he’s actually dead but you know what I mean.
I posted a clip from that same concert earlier in the thread. He sounded fantastic that night.
I prefer as much harmonic as possible in my blues...
Tom Stillman and his wife.
Outstanding.
Thank you for that. Amazing.
I’m going to see him live or the first time at Constitution Hall in DC in November...
Fingers like bananas but he sure could pick the blues.
I had to put this song on here. If it’s not the blues, it aught to be.
