Teenage Boy Shoves Dog Head First Into Freezing Water in Vile 'Ice Bucket Challenge'

This is the sickening moment a teenager plunges his pet dog head-first into freezing water in an "ice bucket challenge" stunt.

The boy, believed to be from London, forcibly shoves the animal into the bucket in a cruel mutation of the charity fundraising trend.

His actions have been condemned by animal rights campaigners who say it would have been caused "distress, if not harm" to the dog.

Officers from the RSPCA said a "formal investigation" was being conducted into potential offences under the Animal Welfare Act.

Footage of the incident emerged at the height of the craze - which has helped raise over £250,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and tens of millions of pounds for the ALS Association in the US - since it began sweeping the internet.

The video shows the youth clutching the helpless animal and saying: "Here’s my dog and she’s doing the ice bucket challenge. She wants to nominate all the other dogs here and all the cats as well, yeah."

The animal can be heard letting out a yelp after it is plunged into a bucket, which then topples from a work bench it was balanced on.

The footage sparked a backlash on Facebook when it was originally posted.

Nobody else doing this is writing a check either. I bet it is a very small portion anyway. I have seen tons of these videos on FB, even from my own stupid sheep relatives, and I can guarantee you the ones I’ve seen are not writing checks. It’s just a stupid fad.

On another note I use to put tape on my cats paws and let it go crazy....

I still put a piece of tape on my cat's tail and watch him spin after it! LOL!

You better sleep with one eye open. Cuz soon as you take this crap off my Bitch Sleeping Paws, I’m gonna lick and clean em real good and you’re gonna get a reminder of just who’s in charge around here...”

As I said....a small portion is writing checks. The rest are doing it because it’s a fad.

I’d love for a “small portion” to put 94.3 million bucks into my bank account. Everybody I know that’s done it has also written a check, and I know a few that wrote checks without the dunk. Just because it’s a fad doesn’t mean it isn’t accomplishing something.

I always take the full length mirror off the closet door, lay it on the floor with my cat’s favorite toy on it. Then watch her freak out when she thinks she is falling as she tries to get her toy. The dog and I laugh our buts off.

Peanut butter can be fun when they willfully self inflict it. My cat...let’s just say you DO NOT leave peanut butter unguarded around him. He loves the stuff!

I don’t care for anything that hurts or scares animals, but peanut butter is innocent fun because even as they’re chomping around on it, they’re enjoying it. At least my cat is...he’ll go out of his way to try and steal peanut butter directly from the jar, from the measuring cup or bowl if you’re baking, even try to abscond with a sandwich.
