Wait just a minute. How do you hang yourself while sitting down? Smells more and more like I first suspected that it was that weird sex game.
It doesn’t say that he was sitting down but that he was “in a seated position”. What I don’t get is how he could be suspended that way. I would think his legs would have dangled down so that he wouldn’t have been in a “seated position”.
All you have to do it stop blood flow through the carotid arteries to the brain for about 15 seconds and nature does the rest.
He didn’t hang himself while seating.
He put a belt in the door jam and then slumped so that his weight caused him to suffocate.
His body then slumped into a position that looked much like he was in a seated position.
That is commitment and I can imagine his emotions so high and while crying his endorphins took over enabling him to strangle himself.
Just sad.

The one thing about doing it that way, however, is that you would have to overcome the urge to stand up which prevent the hanging.
The only other explanation would be that he was able to drop violently enough to break his neck which seems unlikely.

Apparently this is the new thing in suicide circles. That woman designer who killed herself a few mnths ago did the same thing. It seems you can wedge a belt into a door, then sit down and as long as you’re suspended a bit off the ground, that’s enough. Maybe it wouldn’t even hurt, if you put the belt around your neck and just kind of leaned in a bit at a time. You might just get hazy around the edges and then pass out. I would think it would take great determination, though.
