One reason given was the fact that 14 percent of the cameras were out of service last year... Sabotage is also to blame. Last years violent Bonnet Rouges protests against the controversial eco tax saw around 220 cameras destroyed in acts of vandalism.
As much as it hurts me to say it... Yeah, France!

I agree 100%. If I am ever diagnosed with a terminal illness, I believe I would buy a junker-truck and run over every speed and red light camera I could find. F’in fascists!

Another is that there are phone apps that notify the driver as they are approaching the camera to slow down and they are getting better.
