Topsfield, Mass. --- (NECN) A motorist traveling on I-95 South in Topsfield, Massachusetts, endured a frightening moment Wednesday morning when an axe struck their vehicle.
A landscaper driving a dump truck had failed to properly secure an axe in its rear cargo area.
The axe came loose, flew off the truck and became lodged in the windshield of a car traveling behind it, nearly striking a passenger.
The female passenger sat terrified in her seat after it all happened, with an axe lodged in the glass just inches from her face. She was covered in glass.
"She was very shaken up. I asked her if she was injured, she said she wasn't," said Lt. Risteen.
The truck driver was cited for the failure to secure cargo, which carries a $200 fine.

Let me axe you a question.
My aunt’s car was struck through the windshield when a truckload of logs fell off going down the highway.
I hate it when that happens.
Was someone's mom in the car?
I mustache you a question, but I'm shaving it for later! [/ sean connery voice]
I’m glad nobody was left with a splitting headache.
No sleeping like a log tonight...by either driver.
You’d think a wind shield could deflect a flying axe.
Told the then-wife I'd hit a panther, a pink panther...
Just South of there, Northbound, is a bit of a jug handle. A flatbed was carrying some I-beams, and the load shifted. The driver was in the right-hand lane, so the beams fell onto the empty breakdown lane. I drove past well after the cops were on scene with nary a slow down.
See severed heads that almost fall right in your lap.
See that bloody hatchet coming right at you.
No, you’ll never see hideous effects like these again

Hew never know when the axe will fall.
So someone almost got the ax —
Calling all product liability lawyers. Multi billion dollar payday if you can link the defective windshield to a possible failed GM recall.
NHTSA to require automobile manufacturers to test all new models for deflective safety properties for flying axes, crowbars, hammers, locomotives, airplanes, boats, sharks, Obama appointees, etc. Ratings will be awarded as: good, acceptable, and dead wrong.

Was the driver of the car hit by the axe cited for following too close?
She almost got into a fight with an axe and the axe almost won!
LAWSUIT !!!
LAWSUIT !!!
(lawsuit)
We had this happen with an auger bit from a line truck once. Scared the crap out of everyone on the highway behind it. It is very likely the axe bounced up in the air and when it came back down, the car drove into it.
Is this what Lois Lerner was referring to as an axe hole?
