Via blues show host Holly Harris: "Very sadly we are hearing that Johnny Winter passed away today in Zurich, Switzerland while on tour. Really, really sad news. More details by tomorrow"
Had pleasure of doing a phone int. with him and his band in Feb.--he will be missed; an influence for so many
Edgar played at a fairground near here in 1980.
He played about 6 notes, screamed about the sound system and stomped off the stage.
And that was it.
That sounds like what Sly Stone was doing for about 10 years before people just stopped by tickets to a concert that may or may not happen that night. Many of the pros do tend to get spoiled and inconsiderate, in every kind of performance.
I wasn’t really wracked up about it but everybody else sure was.
Atlanta Rhythm Section rushed onstage and things settled down for the most part.
Blue Oyster Cult used to play at a nearby WV roadhouse and they always gave like they were at the Cap Center.
Class shows.
Thanks for the update:
R.I.P. J.D. Winter III...Take Care at the Crossroads.
Thanks for the music. RIP.
from Paul Nelson of his band (one of the people I interviewed):
>>I lost my friend and mentor yesterday

Some other guy.....Left handed, too!............
Someone tweeted that when Johnny Winter’s ghost shows up, it’ll be like he never left.
What a great musician. Never got to see him, but I did see Edgar Winter once.
The flags should be at half-staff................
The nation’s flags should be at half staff......................oh, wait, he’s white.........never mind.................
RIP.
they’re gonna do an autopsy, think it’s medically related.
