A British tourist had the tops of two of his fingers sliced off while riding on the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disney World in Florida. The victim lost the tip of his ring and little finger after apparently dangling them outside the log fume ride which inspired the Johnny Depp movies. Disney officials in Orlando, Florida, immediately shut down the ride in the Magic Kingdom park following the incident.

Does this mean that he will Never Play The Violin Again?
He’ll have to play the guitar like Jerry Garcia.
Keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times.
"Dangling", my fanny. This guy was either reaching deep down into the water or trying to reach out of the boat and touch the scenery.
They have that sign for a reason...
That's a special kind of stupid.
My brother lost his thumb, but doing something more noble, that is, handling cables as an electrician. Someone apparently dropped something, causing the cables to whip away, with his thumb at that moment handling them.
When I first saw him in person when I heard about the incident, I gave him the thumbs up.
have been on that ride many many times
as have MILLIONS
yes, to reach the mechanism below the water requires more than a “dangle”
unless this guy was built like Lurch
I was just there a few weeks ago and coincidentally a British family was sitting behind me and the kid was doing this exact same thing throughout the entire ride even telling his dad to do it... wasn’t warned or corrected once by the “Adults”... I suppose those 2 steel guide rails under the water, and the weight of the boat pinching your kids fingers between the two isn’t something Britain’s concern themselves with apparently.
“You will get wet. You may lose your fingertips.”
Don’t worry, the British have socialized medicine to take care of them.
“There be rough waters ahead.”
I have a friend who is ultra careful and still managed to lop off a few fingers with his table saw. When I saw him at the hospital, my first question was if I could have his table saw?
LOL!!
I didn’t get the saw. His fingers got re-attached and he kept it.
Many years ago, I was letting my roommate horse around on my Yamaha in the backyard. He managed to upend it and break his leg (a freaky weird break and 10 weeks in traction!).
I was visiting him at the hospital and jokingly asked if he was going to pay for the bent handlebars. Nurse heard me and went postal. Gave me dirty looks every time I was there after that.
ARRRrrrGGHHH Matey, the sharks be eatin’ well this week!
I weep for the state of written communication in this nation's press.
You could say he gave the Pirates the finger. Or two.
