The Lord made us Stewards of the Earth and a good Steward does not abuse his charges.
Whoever is righteous has regard for the life of his beast, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel.
Proverbs 12:10
For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity.
Ecclesiastes 3:19

Incredibly he stepped out of his truck and took his first step to freedom at one minute past midnight on July 4th, which felt so extraordinarily fitting, Satyanarayan told MailOnline. Rock on, boys.

I love elephants and I don’t know what kind of brut could chain and torture an animal...
What a beautiful story

I’m with you Kartographer. Animals are gifts of God, abusing them is inhuman.

If I go to the story I’ll cry, so I’ll content myself with the knowledge that he has been rescued and will be safe from here on out. And thank God for it.
Animals are His creations, too, and He loves them.

The owner, reported by The Times of India to be a drug addict, and the elephants handler attempted to thwart the rescue, blocking the road, shouting commands to Raju to try to provoke the animal into violence, and adding more chains around the animals legs. But the rescue team stood its ground, and seized the animal. It was at this point that tears began rolling down Rajus face. Raju, despite each painful step as the spikes cut into his flesh, calmly climbed into the truck, as if knowing he was being rescued.
Its amazing he didn't go into a rampage fueled by physical pain and anger years ago. Or when he was being rescued.
