Musk ox invasion keeps Nome wildlife managers busy
Anchorage Daily News ^ | comJuly 2, 2014 | SEAN DOOGAN

Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.

Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

I bought a few small pork chops and will have one for supper. I had salmon for lunch, a piece I thawed yesterday and then was too tired to make for supper.

Bill had to leave in less-than-perfect shoes.

You could peel and cut up the pieces, put them in ziplock bags (or a bowl covered in plastic) and freeze them.

The turkey slices are in the freezer.

The lettuce is in a bag and resting comfortably, and at the moment, hunger is lurking but not obnoxious.

I do not like this BP med. It makes my brain feel like gray lint.

I had some vegetable soup and grapes, and now I don’t feel like making the pork chop. I can have it tomorrow.

I meant you could cut up and freeze the PEACHES, not the pieces ;-).

You have to remember to turn the battery off and on.

Did the cat plug the USB hole to upload the mouse?

Cat cables aren’t needed for mice.

I took a picture of a bright yellow cat with black lettering on its side once when I went to the wild animal park kinda in San Diego. I would post it if this wasn’t my iPad. It was really good at digging holes. I took the picture from the tram that isn’t there anymore.

Catenary cables always droop towards the end of the line.....

(But canary-in-cat tales are short-lived.)

Catenary cables are supported at two points, and droop in the center.

I’ve been thinking this might be an effective way to make new body panels for sports cars and other useful machines, without going to a lot of effort setting up elaborate facilities.

Just drape the fabric, such as carbon fiber or fiberglass strands, in the hanging shape you want to replicate, and then use the bonding agent.

Once the panel has hardened, it can be machined for proper fit at the edges, and have its surface polished and conditioned.

THAT is a fierce-erocious-looking kitteh!

I’m hungry. It must be time to take my pills and get something to eat. I also need to make a menu for the day. I do much better with a menu than I do just foraging.

Chocolate!!!
