Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

Yes, it wasn’t a really long visit. It was VERY hot. They have an exhibition of stone sculptures from Zimbabwe that is very interesting.

Way cool!
Well, I’m done with the laundry and there are still almost two hours before Busdaddy gets off (Sunday schedule) and I’m going to prop my foot up and take a mess of my feet.
See y’all tomorrow!

Enjoy your relaxing! We need to get some children washed, and many will be going to bed early. Hopefully I sweated out the results of the salty chicken from last night.

Well, I had time, so I cleaned myself. Wasn't sure I wanted to, though; it was a lot of work.
Well, as long as you washed up realllly good after you kissed the cow.
(By the way, I like the taste of cow too. )

Seems kinda like the taste of salad, just before you start eating beef.

A lot of these are poisonous..I thought that was the centipede..

" Stings are generally no worse than a bee's sting, with its venom causing redness and mild to severe swelling"
As opposed to a millipede which is a detritivore (sort of like a teenager..) and does not have the ability to bite or sting..

But they can be divided into steaks rather easily...

What a really marvelous piece of engineering!
I have cables of that stuff in my walls. Steel, and sometimes bronze armor flexible cladding to protect the wires.
None of it has failed yet.

The steel cladding is fine. Except if it got wet, like from, say, a leaky roof...
Them the electrical continuity of the armor becomes compromised due to the manifestation of certain oxide type(s) that closely resemble plain old rust, and a ground test at the outlets shows open ground...
And beastly equipment such as APC backups gripe highly about being plugged into those certain outlets... (Well ok, they light up a 'building wireing fault' light.)
But the occasional rat breaks its teeth on it still. (They eat rubber and pvc..)

Bronze is a pretty good conductor, and tends to remain so.
However, an even better solution is to package the ground wire internally as well. Even smarter to have two conductors, a neutral, a ground wire, and the casing all separate.
But what the heck are we building, anyway? Some kind of space habitat or something?

I'm not building anything. I was referring to the old farmhouse I reside in.. The newer BX has an internal ground wire for that very scenario, however the older stuff that was built into the house back in the 1930's has no internal ground and relied on the continuity of the armor...
But rats eat romex insulation..

I replaced a lot of mine with electrical metallic tubing.
Then I put what I wanted inside them.

Hmmm, Perhaps he had a pet milipede and just didn’t want us eating it?
