Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

Dunno, but the furniture is finely compressed carbon.
Oh, “The Washing of the Spears.” Yeah, I’d like that back. It’s not in the library.
yep, that firey thingy coming through the screen burnt up all the furniture into finely compressed carbon. Maw loves it though. Says it matches the rest of the house.
I'm building up my library the hard way. It's slow going.
Well, I probably wouldn’t own it if it were in the library, because it’s not like I read it every year. I bought it at the used book store.
Diamonds?
Mmmmmaybe.
Uncomfortable. I’d rather have pine.
As near as I can determine from their Facepagething page, 3rd Battalion/5th Regiment Marines are now in Okinawa..They rotated out of Ashcanistan in 2011, replaced by the 1st/5th. The 3rd/5th is known as the Dark Horse Battalion, and a couple years ago when they were deployed, they did take heavy causalities. (See here.)
As usual, once an email starts making the rounds, it doesn't die, although often the dates and other identifying info is altered.. Also as usual Stopes, er, Sgropes, or whoevertheyare and an article on this.
However, there certainly is nothing wrong with praying for Marines even if they aren't in Ashcanistan. With a coward-in-chief such as we are cursed with, anyone in military needs all the prayers they can get!
Nice relaxing music as Mother Holds Earth awaiting Son ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50CJsmUg4Dg
It’s possible the news took a long time to reach LibreOuMort in her far-off location. I only fact-check when I want to disprove someone’s argument!
Supper was full of salt. I’ll probably put on 3 lbs. of water retention from that 3oz. of chicken. At least it’s only Sunday night, not right before I weigh.
Are you back from the dragon-infested wilds of Ohio?
But tough and has excellent refractive abilities.
Waiting for an IT thread ... Seen one? Slow evening ... Guess slow is good sometimes. Have some questions if an IT thread pops up. Not interested in posting one myself. Want to keep record intact of only three posted threads. I’m Not a Tech but with the Techs that might show up might find something to comment on.
Wasn't looking to disprove anything. I was looking for more info to write a screed about the biased media... So, it's still ok. The media is still biased even if this is old news, and prayers for Marines are always in vogue... ;-)
I just didn't get to fulminate on the subject!
Sitting at work with spotty 3g signal.
Unnnngh.
Woe ... that is the low side.
It’s funny but I don’t seem as salt-minded now as I did before I started WW.
I’m eating a lot of frozen fruit, now, but I still have to have that dollop of Cool Whip...Lite. I’d prefer Reddi-Whip, but I don’t want to add points. I’m sure my diet will change as I lose weight; one thing is for sure...the Smart Ones meals are FILLING! I won’t be buying too many of them...just for when I go to Busdaddy’s.
He always has salad, and I can always bring enough fruit to last the duration.
I think I’m going to head for bed. My left foot is hurting a little, and I need a breathing treatment to open up the airways and help me get rid of some of this congestion.
So have a good evening, everyone! :waving:
