Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

Morning, Early Bird.
Today is Cold and Wet.
Will be running up to Oxford in a bit.
A richer source of material for my Book : “A Field Guide to Libtards” cannot be found. :D
It’s supposed to be in the upper 80sF here today. Maybe we’ll go to the water park.
Have fun in Oxford. Mom and I went there in (iirc) 1983. Very scenic.
‘83....
Neither of you would recognise it now.
All of the 17th and 18th century stone paving has gone. Replaced with block paving.
Wonder what happened to all that old paving....hmmm?
The covered Market is still there. Now there’s a thought.....
I don’t remember the covered market. We were on a bus tour, a day trip out of London, that also went to Windsor Castle.
It is a little known fact (or little cared about) that Bugtussle was actually Silver Dollar City in Branson Mo. I know this because it was while filming at SDC that Paul Henning met my grandfather and allowed him to be on-screen. This event lead to my grandfather being on 4 episodes of “The Beverly Hillbillies” filmed at the mansion.
W00t!
Good morning! I’m off to Weight Watchers, as soon as Sally finds her shoes. (Hint: you can find your things more easily if you put them away.)
Tom weighed 265.
They look so comfy.
My foot was hurting last night, and is letting me know it is still here, today. I feel hungover.
Yesterday afternoon, I was printing out a pattern for a “Pineapple” shawl, and ran out of ink. *sigh* Now I’ll have to find the website all over again. :o|
I was wrong. I don’t weigh until tomorrow, which is good. Maybe I can actually make the goal by then. :o])
It’s supposed to be 98 today, with lower humidity. We had a very nice breeze yesterday. Usually we get either a breeze wannabe (none to speak of) or a gale. Hopefully, we will have a breeze again today, as that will help it feel “cool.”
Our Little League team got home last night, defeated, but very welcomed. They came in second, so that’s not too bad! Of course they were disappointed, but they sure made a mark!
Tom is a good-sized lad. Had he gained or lost since his last weighing?
I think Sally was looking for her shoes the last time I was there. Wassupwithat, I wonder?
Off to take pills and then a shower. See you when you get back from WW.
I’ve weighed myself every morning for the past 10 years. So far, thankfully, I still have one. One of these days gravity is going to give up on me (or I’m going to scare the planet enough that it will just let go). When that happens I have no idea how I’ll type on a computer.
Until I got on this diet, I only weighed about once a month. Once a day is far too often for me, as I don’t think I could stand the daily fluctuations. Good on ya, if you can! LOL!
Now I have to find something to eat so I can take my pills.
You have FReepmail.
I gained 5 lbs. last week. I didn’t eat and drink that much, so I suspect it’s water retention for some reason.
Anyway, this week I’m going to count my points every day, like you. It’s funny how you lose weight when you actually follow the plan!
LOL!
I just know I have to do this, and if it means I have to count points then that’s what I’ll do. I’m using up my extra points in a hurry, but I think I’ll still meet the goal or come very close to it.
I only got enough food for a week, so what I’ll do after today is forage. At least I know what to eat. Nothing fresh lasts very long with only one person eating it.
Frozen foods are good, too.
Tom says our family is cat-holic, because we can’t live without a cat.
Like ice cream? :)
Somehow, lettuce just doesn’t taste good when it’s frozen!
I do have some frozen vegs, but I was liking that salad every day!
