Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

Around 2200 last night, I had an ulcer cocktail, and it was the worst thing I could have done. Within five minutes after the first bite, I lost all the food I had eaten since noon. My stomach still hurts.
I think it was the raspberries I ate, as I went through something similar, on Friday, but not as severe. So I doubt that I’ll be using very many points today.
Ungh...I’m starting off with mint tea and no pills. The stomach doesn’t seem to want anything on it, hot or cold, so we’ll do lukewarm. Wish me luck.

Some of the family has gone to church, and I’m cleaning. I hadn’t planned on it, but the dining room floor was sticky.
Shawn mopped the kitchen floor on Thursday, and I spilled some soda on it within 30 minutes after he left. *sigh* I’m down to one Wet-Jet pad, too. Dang, I hate being clumsy!
I’m having some mint tea, trying to calm the stomach, but it’s slow going. Bed sounds very good to me right now. I picked up some new books yesterday at the community room, when I dropped off some things I wouldn’t be using. (I’m sure they were gone in 15 minutes.)
There were five people in there, having breakfast. I said good morning to them and not one of them responded. They are so much better than I....*gack*
I tried to watch “The Immortals” last night, but it was far too “B Movie” for me. It was closer to a D Movie...DUMB!

The children had sodas last week, and there had been various drips and spills. This morning I just couldn’t stand it a minute longer!
Maybe the people in the community room were hard of hearing ;-).
I have to sew things on people’s Scout uniforms later today. Maybe I’ll watch a movie. We finished “Since You Went Away,” from 1943, last night. It was very much a product of its time.

Tom spilled beer last night. It makes the floor sticky, too.
No, these people are Katrina transplants, and for some reason, they seem to think they are the Elite, and IF they deign to speak to you, you must grovel, kiss their hands and thank them profusely for acknowledging your existence.
I’ve always spoken to them and if they are by themselves, in a one-on-one situation, they will speak. If there are two of them, they will blow you off without a backward glance.
I hate sticky floors!
Actually, I hate dirty floors. But dang. I can’t mop every day.
That Napa earthquake was pretty ugly, I think. Pics are up now and I’m glad, once again, that I no longer live in CA. Though I still live in an earthquake zone.

Yah. I’m too polite to say it on open forum, so I will tone it down. I have yet to meet a Katrina transplant that didn’t act like s/he was better than I. I don’t know how many Clark County got, but it was far too many. A lot of them have gone back, and I’m glad. I wish the rest of them would.
The mint tea has helped my stomach a little, but I think I’m going to go in and lie down for a bit.
