Musk ox invasion keeps Nome wildlife managers busy

Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.

Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

Busdaddy may have found a house. We will know on Monday afternoon. It is a nicer house than what he has and is in a much better, newer neighborhood. It’s about twice as far to work, but it’s a good trade off.

Nice fully fenced back yard, RV gate for the trailer, two-car garage, 3 bedrooms, two-story, alarm system and a fireplace. Only $200 more than what he’s paying, and THAT’s a good trade off, too!

If he is approved, he will probably move in in September. Ungh....I’ll be doing most of the packing, I suspect. But I’m still having a tough time getting this place squared away after having stuff in storage. Today’s projects were the stacks of stuff on the floor and table. The table is next. The floor is about half done, but I can’t finish until the table is clean.

Who said I wanted to be dainty with my eating habits? I’m a firm believer in finger food, and since I have a problem with my “lungs” nothing ever makes it to the floor when I drop it...it gets stuck on the ledge.

I gave up trying to be a neat eater when I was 14...

Back from the park, everyone’s washed, and I’m off to the next thing in half an hour. It was a warm day. I ate lots of apples, and now I have a stomach ache.
