Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

LOL ... hanging one on the ceiling.
Frank will stare toward the ceiling until he loses consciousness. Then Jake will sleep on him.
Jake wins again ... LOL
Jake always wins. It’s a trick.
Maw says kill a terrorist. It's the right thing to do. Paw and me hate draggin' 'em out of the barn.
I get a little short-tempered with him at times, but I’m trying to be tolerant since the break-in. It has REALLY affected him. I came in to find lights on in the living room, kitchen and bedroom and the stereo on. (Or did I already mention that?)
It wasn’t until I was met with that that I realized how truly violated he feels. Been there. There is no cure. Even moving into a new place is not a guarantee that one will rest easy.
Today, I probably should have stayed home, but there isn’t much there to entice me. There is so much work to be done to get the papers and things sorted and put away. And maybe, if I have enough gas, I can take a load to the local thrift store and get it off my patio. I’m anxious to have it neat again!
But I need about three uninterrupted days when I feel relatively well, and I can guarantee it won’t be this week.

| During a meeting at the 2010 G-20 Toronto summit, Prime Minister David Cameron and President Barack Obama gave each other bottles of beer from their respective home towns/cities, with Cameron presenting Obama with twelve bottles of Hobgoblin, which is brewed in his Witney constituency. The President remarked that he would drink his beer chilled, as opposed to the optimal room temperature (15.5 °C/59.9 °F) at which strong ale should be drunk, prompting Wychwood to create a T-shirt in their online store reading "What's the matter Obama, afraid you might taste something?" |
Betcha ya don't have to squeeze a hunk of lime into it... !!

Corona Extra is a pale lager produced by Cervecería Modelo in Mexico for domestic distribution and export to all other countries besides the United States, and by Constellation Brands in Mexico for export to the United States. The split ownership is a result of an anti-trust settlement permitting the merger of Grupo Modelo with AB InBev. It is one of the top-selling beers worldwide. Outside of Mexico, Corona is commonly served with a wedge of lime or lemon in the neck of the bottle to add tartness and flavor.source
Reminds me of some women I've known.
This makes you officially a bad influence.
.
Welcome to the club, and glad to know you!
Was in Mexico many years ago (1996) and was challenged by two young Texans having their first sample of alcohol, to a drinking contest.(They where older than me)
Oops, hee hee.
It’s not an honor lightly bestowed.
Like the title of “avuncular”, you have to be careful how you use it.
Which is exactly the reason that for many years now it has been nigh unto impossible to interest any young chicks...
Besides, it's less hassle to stick with the one I have. She was young once, too...
Eventually, you may learn that merely being allowed in their presence, and given the opportunity to speak and be seen, is as close to them as you will be permitted to get.
Learn to enjoy that, for it is as much as you may hope to achieve. Propinquity is better than solitude.
We uncles, monks, and other saints are cursed in the same manner. The grapes are tantalizingly close, but just out of reach.
