Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

Some days, reason is not his forte.
Other days, common sense takes a dive.
If I protest to much about him moving, it will make him want to do it all the more. After struggling with all my stuff from storage, I’m not looking forward to helping someone else.
I suppose you can just nod and say, “Uh-huh,” when he discusses it, and hope it doesn’t go anywhere.
Or I could just be sick.
If it comes to that, definitely!
Speaking of sick, my new neighbor, mother of Frank’s new friend, just stopped by. They were going to Discovery Place with us tomorrow, but she said they’re on their way to her sister’s house to take care of the kids because her sister has salmonella!
Unnngh.
Despite this setback, it looks like this will be a big friendship for Frank. The parents are nice people - Dad is a Navy veteran, into guns, and a second child is on the way.
I just put all the cookbooks back on top of the fridge and stuck the frying pans back in the oven. If they come for the serial numbers, ohwell. I needed to get some milk to thaw and realized it was my last quart. I didn’t have it on my list and I don’t know why.
I also took out a pound of hamburger and think I will make tacos today or tomorrow. I have all the other stuff. Wait. No. I don’t. Sour cream is missing.
Ohwell. I’ll just have to let it slide. Maybe I’ll remember to get some next month.
I’m glad Frank has a new friend. It helps them to learn things that they may not necessarily learn at home.
I’m going to take my pills and then contemplate a shower. It might make a difference in how I feel overall today. Maybe. And if it does, I’ll get to work on the stacks I’ve been avoiding.
I took a shower last night. We’ll need to get milk later today or tomorrow. Otherwise, I haven’t had to go shopping since Sunday afternoon!
My stress level is so much lower, what with the absence of those who are absent.
Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder.
My mother said it first.
According to Anoreth, it will also make you throw up.
Off we go to the trampoline activity. Seeya later!

I know, or at least I hope for her sake, she's not on Big Munson Island.
I'm currently recovering from holding a three-day estate sale that included some.
During the days of its popularity, drinking absinthe was a ritual.
That looks like so much fun! If I did it, I wouldn’t hurt my cute little self by falling down! LOL!
What an interesting item!
I had never heard of them until now. I truly DO learn something new every day. Thanks!
Interesting. I like the splody thing!
Same here!
Update. Took Fredd for a mini walk this morning. He used his bad leg more than not. Spoke to the vet yesterday afternoon he agreed no reason to take him to vet all that way if he is active and no swelling or heat coming from the leg or paw.
He is using the leg more today. Thanks so much to all of you for your prayers will update in a day or so unless he doesn’t keep improving.
(((HUGS)))
Excellent!
Hooray for Fredd!
*hugs to all*
