Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is aggressively courting conservative Christians as he contemplates a potential run for the White House in 2016 and it appears to be paying dividends.
The Republican politician has been developing relationships with evangelical leaders while promoting himself as a champion of family values and battling increasing religious intolerance, according to BuzzFeed.
Michael Farris, founder of the evangelical Patrick Henry College, said Jindal is looked on very favorably by the religious right, while comparing him to former Republican Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a minister who is also seen as a possible presidential candidate.
Jindal "is a top-tier candidate, and hell resonate a lot with that community," said Farris, who leads the fight for Christian home-schoolers, a main part of Iowas conservative base.

He might have a better chance than some believe. He was on “Duck Dynasty” recently.
I don’t put much stock in the opinion of someone who is impressed with Huckabee.
Huckabee is a mainstream tea party conservative. What don’t you like about him other than his name?
Jim supported Huck at a point.
David Vitter is like Ted Cruz
Jindal is like Rick Perry.
Will anyone win if they are overshadowed by a more conservative local?

Now Baton Rouge is filled with Vitter-friendly pols, sometimes referred to as the fiscal hawks. Theyve made Jindals life a lot harder, attacking him for using accounting gimmicks to balance the state budget. Vitter has gotten in on the action too, castigating the governor for kicking the can down the roadthe sort of bad spending policy Im constantly fighting in Washington.
Vitter, in fact, has frequently questioned Jindals judgment. He vocally criticized Jindals handling of a high-profile fight between landowners and the oil and gas industry as very counterproductive. When Jindal backed a $1.2 billion teaching hospital in New Orleans, Vitter wrote to the secretary of Housing and Urban Development to ask that they reject the states application for federal loan insurance and joined forces with the state treasurer and House speaker to come up with their own, cheaper proposal.
“Huckabee is a mainstream tea party conservative.”
Sure hasn’t always seemed that way.
He’s pro-amnesty like Jindal, Mark Harris(NC) and Lankford(OK).
I hope he beats Rand in Iowa though.
Huckabee isn’t a mainstream tea party conservative.
The end "point" out of last ditch desperation to avoid Mitt Romney.
I don’t like him condemning people for using the term “rino” AND saying the word should be banned. He’s a fraud.
Yep, old Mitt. That was my last vote for a rino. And since Huckabee doesn’t like the term “rino” he’ll never get my vote.
OK, I stand corrected; he does suck on his amnesty position.
