A worker was caught on camera preparing shawarma with his feet, prompting public calls on Saudi authorities to punish the restaurant. But officials later denied the restaurant is based in the Gulf Kingdom and said it could be in Turkey.
A picture showing the worker squeezing the shawarma meat on the bar with his feet with the help of two other workers was published on social networks in the Kingdom.
Social network users called for action against the restaurant and slammed those workers for abusing public health at a time when demand for restaurant food surges during Ramadan, Sada newspaper said in a report from the capital Riyadh.
In a separate report, Ajel newspaper quoted an official at Riyadhs secretariat as saying inspectors would take measures to locate the restaurant and seize the workers.
We are taking measures to seize these workers. We urge the public to cooperate and provide any information that will lead to the location of the restaurant, health director Mohammed Mumen said.
Newspapers later quoted Riyadh secretariat as saying investigation showed the restaurant is not based in Saudi Arabia and that it could be in Turkey.
Happy Rama Dama Ding Dong.
(Just ignore the foot odor smell)
Please keep these nasty savages away from me.
Thank you.
Please don't squeeze the shawarma (with your feet!)
How am I supposed to feel about this?
If it offends mooselimbs, then I'm all for it.
If it offends Christians, then get a rope.
So, the burning question...WTF is shawarma?
That sure kills my hankering for a shawarma.
Would you like some toe jam with that?
It’s basically the same as gyros.
So, you are a vegetarian?
These guys become unhinged pretty easy. Wonder what will happen when they meet our liberals? Who will freak out first?
Reads as though they were trying to obey Islamic laws during Ramadan, by not touching any food during the daytime with their hands. Typical Islamic law.
nope, just don’t like muslims.
