Plus, the clip has Jack Elam in it. Which is always awesome. :-)
One of the best if not the best spaghetti westerns! There was a lot of groundbreaking in it. IIRC the ending credits were the first to use that...ummm...flying, rotating script. Not sure but there was something about it that was a first.
Elam had quite a range from comedy to drama.

Why would I not look at Henry Fonda the same way again? I always *knew* that, at heart, he was a two-faced SOB, which the movie role captured perfectly...
That’s a great movie — it would have been better with a little less Claudia Cardinale
Best spaghetti western.
I love it! I’ve got the DVD of it. It’s a movie of few words, but the music is very interesting. The beginning segment of the movie (I believe the first ten minutes or so) is made without any “formal music” playing either in the background or foreground - and instead - uses “natural sounds” as a sort of music for that beginning segment. It’s quite interesting.
“you brought two too many,” epitome of bad a$$...
I always found the movie hard to follow.
My dearly departed explained it to me many times...but sadly I was always going “Huh”?
Great movie, but the soundtrack alone makes me love it!
My favorite movie of all time. The music is fantastic.
my tagline requires acknowleding the thread.
Probably not as well known as the Eastwood-Leone films (Good, Bad, and The Ugly), but really an outstanding “spaghetti western” in its own right.
I just read that Bronson was the original choice for the Eastwood roles.
Plus Woody Strode.
I have seen every great western ever made a couple of times and this is one of them.
Fonda wanted to have dark contact lenses, but Leone wouldn’t let him, thinking it was refreshing for a villain to have those crystal blue eyes. It really works, in my opinion.
I think Robards makes the movie. The one thing about this spaghetti Western that differed from the classic three from Leone is that there was so much of the female lead, the other three had so little love aspects it was very different from most Westerns.
