It’s my first year to grow them and I am impressed! Probably a good 60 or so on each plant. Will certainly be planting again as, in addition to sauce they also do well for salsa.

San Marzano tomatoes are my best producers.. I hear they are real tasty too. Bought a seed packet of them a few weeks ago and have one seedling sprouted to be used as a backup and just for fun experimenting. Just may transplant it in early Sept and hope for some late Fall production if the temps cooperate.

I may switch to San Marzano next year. The reason I use Romas is that they are good for almost everything, and that's what you can buy cheap for the restaurants.
Having had the San Marzanos, now that I'm not buying for a restaurant, I may do that.
