Pointing out that post-election challenges usual fail, one Tea Party leader, Judson Phillips is calling for Thad Cochran's primary challenger, State Senator Chris McDaniel to run as a write-in candidate in the Fall.
The Republican Establishment thinks they have fought back an insurrection from conservatives and now we will meekly fall in line in November and support a RINO who needs Democrats to win? Never, said Mr. Phillips, who also writes a column in The Washington Times. If Chris McDaniel loses his challenges to this election, then he needs to be a write-in candidate this fall.
It's increasingly clear that Democrat votes, particularly from Mississipi's African American community helped Thad Cochran eek out a win over McDaniel in the GOP primary. Those votes would most likely go to a Democrat in the Fall, meaning McDaniel may have a good chance at winning in a three man race.

Alert! The GOPe flying monkeys are inbound!
Since Democrat now own Cockroach why not?! Its doubtful Cochroach will win after accusing most of MS Republicans of racism.
Childers (Dem nominee) is no more liberal than Cochran. He is pro 2nd amendment and life. I’d vote for him over Thad. GOP Mississippi - DC cabal needs to feel pain.
Are they within the % where someone can ask for a re-count? I just don’t know in MS
THere may be zero legal avenues for him to challenge “every single ballot”. There are usually very few.
Yes, I understand that column. But if he were an “official” candidate entered for the purpose of being a write-in, the correct spelling of his name is what I’m wondering about.
I guess “conservatives” really want to lose the seat to the Dems. Sorry, but this is shooting yourself in both feet - and in the head, while you’re at it.
He can’t enter the race at all under his own name via sore loser laws.
Mcdaniel is going to be on Hannity radio program in a bit.

It's hard to play both cards.
I agree but could one of you statistics wizards figure out
1) how many registered voters in say Hinds county
2) how many dems voted for either cochran or mcdaniel in 1st primary say from Hinds county
2) what the difference was in votes this time
3) Could those who sat out June 4th have made that difference
Just sayin’ if anyone gets a chance.
No offense, but the country was headed to hell in a handbasket before Obama was elected. And Republicans ran lousy candidates both times, so we really have no room to complain (well we do, but what good would that do now?)
It might be a blessing in disguise if we have to start over from scratch, minus the GOPe millstone around our necks.
Just something to think about.
“There is obviously NOTHING in the Republican Party for us but to send a message to the Cochrans, Roves and McCains.”
And Boss Hoggs.
Medveds pissing me off, he thinks its great they got all those black dems votes for cochran...it was good reaching out to them *smh*
Is there a kopek's worth of difference between Reid and McCommie?
When that happens, McDaniel needs to already be established to step up and offer himself as the only other viable Republican candidate.
Furthermore, it would be wise for McDaniel, between now and November, to create a situation where Cochran steps in it and exposes himself in an unguarded and unprotected moment.

R vs. D matters because of the Courts. The Democrats running the Senate did away with the filibuster, so that Obama’s nominees to the federal bench have a clear path to confirmation. I understand the frustration in Mississippi, but anything that allows the D's to control the Senate in 2015 and 2016 would be absolutely tragic.
It is possible for things to get worse than the status quo.
Who says McDaniel would lose? Do you really think those democrats who voted for Thud yesterday are going to vote for him in November?
THANK YOU....... I totally agree. Courts, courts, courts. AND those that sat out in 2012 gave us Zippy for another 4 years. You think Romney would have been the same? No way.
