Pointing out that post-election challenges usual fail, one Tea Party leader, Judson Phillips is calling for Thad Cochran's primary challenger, State Senator Chris McDaniel to run as a write-in candidate in the Fall.
The Republican Establishment thinks they have fought back an insurrection from conservatives and now we will meekly fall in line in November and support a RINO who needs Democrats to win? Never, said Mr. Phillips, who also writes a column in The Washington Times. If Chris McDaniel loses his challenges to this election, then he needs to be a write-in candidate this fall.
It's increasingly clear that Democrat votes, particularly from Mississipi's African American community helped Thad Cochran eek out a win over McDaniel in the GOP primary. Those votes would most likely go to a Democrat in the Fall, meaning McDaniel may have a good chance at winning in a three man race.

“Great way to keep Harry Reid as Majority Leader.”
So, you’d rather have McConnell as the Majority Leader? What’s the difference? They both support big spending, they both support amnesty.
You’re too focused on R vs. D. The real issue is big government vs limited government.
If we keep electing these RINOs, they will learn that they can continue to attack conservatives and never pay a price for it. The status quo will remain.
“Its civil war in the GOP.”
Yes!
Ridiculous.
“Ridiculous.”
What’s ridiculous?
Absolutely.. Go for it.
That was the best bet. Too bad. Sorry to see that.
Yup.
We’re just going to leave that race blank. IF we bother to spend $4/gal gas to get to the polling place to begin with.
What’s the difference? Zero. This party is broken and needs to be fixed before we worry about a one vote majority or minority in the Senate.
Yes, this is the only way to send a powerful message to the RINO establishment. The same needs to happen to McConnell in Kentucky.
Run Chris run!
I don’t think you have to change to “no party” status to vote for a write-in in the fall. If you did I’m thinking only Tea Party and McDaniel loyalists would be will to do that. I say go for it. Wouldn’t need 50% at that point either - just simple majority.
Then Cochran’s campaign should have not used despicable democrat
tactics to win. Payback is coming.
Maybe have a grass roots tea party support for the Dem candidate....who ever that looser might be. Tea Party crossover votes to SCREW THE RNC.
Wonder how long, and what will it take for Mrs. Palin to drop the (R)? I’ll be next.
If Cochran had an ounce of honor and loyalty to his constituents, he would vacate his nomination in favor of McDaniel. GOPe is treading in very dangers waters. Honest, salt of the earth voters do not like being bilked out of their rightful nominee.
Once again, the GOPe has committed fraud against its own party rank and file members. I have more respect for an armed robber. At least he is honest about his intentions.
Millions of conservatives will follow Palin!
the problem with playing the long game is, we end up with guys like Obama who will ruin the country in the meantime. I understand the sentiment and it may be the right one, but the best outcome would be to truly get an organized, staffed, funded, and engaged conservative movement that can help pushing these near-misses into the win column. We came this close (within the margin of fraud, some say) with one guy pretty much out on his own...think what could happen if there were a truly effective Conservative party movement with as much money behind it as Soros puts behind the Rats...
