When I had an extraction a few months ago, my oral surgeon prescribed antibiotics and said, “Take them all no matter how you feel.”
A life cut short. Prayers for the boy’s family.
I thought the northern states were more immune to NF?
That’s a lot of cases in Maine alone. I keep an eye out for this because it scares the bejeepers out of me.
What the hell is Maine doing wrong?
The paper is good for nothing but as a bird cage liner, not even good enough to be used to wrap fish.
If more people had and used an ordinary Hulda Clark Zapper, we’d have way fewer of these cases.
Used at first sign of an infection, they are totally effective. And they are cheap and easy to get.

Large Muslim immigration from Somali ?
a few years ago Maine Medical Center made top MRSA infected hospital in the country according to Parade Magazine.
We might have a winner here. Lewiston is overrun.
Why the hell didn’t they take this kid to the hospital?
They tend to congregate in one region. And this isn’t so much an immigrant international-germ issue as it is identifying the bacteria soon and beginning very aggressive treatment.
It is a bad infection and survival rate is not all that good. But you only usually hear about 2 or 3 deaths from it a year. To hear that there were 5 deaths in one state alone is pretty shocking to me, especially since most contractions are from water/fish in southern, warmer climates.
You mean by “top MRSA” that they had the highest rate of infection or the highest rate of curing the infection?
Many types of bacteria can cause necrotizing fasciitis, to include: Group A streptococcus (Streptococcus pyogenes), Staphylococcus aureus, Clostridium perfringens, Bacteroides fragilis, Peptostreptococcus and Aeromonas hydrophila. Often different kinds of bacteria will support each others’ spread.
The major drug resistant bacteria list now includes:
Acinetobacter
Anthrax
Campylobacter
E. Coli
Gonorrhea
Group B streptococcus
Klebsiella pneumoniae
MRSA
MRSA Strain USA300-FPR3757 (flesh eating)
Neisseria meningitidis
Salmonella, non-typhoidal serotypes
Shigella
Streptococcus pneumoniae
Typhoid Fever
Vancomycin-resistant Enterococci (VRE)
Vancomycin-Intermediate/Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VISA/VRSA)
Tuberculosis (DR/MDR/XDR/CDR)
This has nothing to do with the Somali pop here in Maine. The family lives on an island which use to be part of Portland, but is about an hour by boat to reach the mainland. This is a upper middle class family. The kid’s health just went downhill very fast.
Just curious——what do those initials mean after tuberculosis?
I didn’t know there were so many types.
.
You mean by top MRSA that they had the highest rate of infection or the highest rate of curing the infection?
_______________
rate of infection
probably because they thought he was zonked out on meds when he was actually losing ground.
It sounded high to me too, but per the article, the CDC says 0.35 deaths per 100,000 people in the US, and there are 1,328,302 people in Maine, so they should have 4.65 deaths per year.

Such an honor!
A monument to willful ignorance.

How do you think he got the infection?
