People do not want to watch or think about bad things, people want to forget that, and yes, at the end there comes again that famous it cannot happen to us idea.
Do you really think that when (not if) SHTF events would be much different in your part of the world? Do you think that when collapse happens, you and people around you in your town will be somehow able to organize food distribution, security and safety for residents, and all those criminals and sick bastards will somehow disappear, and there is going to be new better society? Are you under the influence of movies and you think that good guys win almost always and that there is justice and sense in everything?

A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it. NIV Proverbs 22:3
In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has. Proverbs 21:20
But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8
Youll still need a knife and a .45, cuz a country boy can survive. ..

I have no neighbors.
God has never given unlimited free will. That much is absolutely clear in the Bible. God absolutely destroyed Adam and Eve’s free will choice by kicking them out of the Garden of Eden and making sure they would never gain entry again, by setting up an angel to block entry.
God hardens whom he will, he blocks actions of others, he opens doors for others to go through, where no one else can, he moves others to evil and calamity - and then holds them fully accountable, regardless.
I’m just describing what the Bible tells us. If it was up to me, I probably wouldn’t do the things that God has done in terms of free will ... but that’s why he is God and I am not.
I wouldn’t eat it if I had tree-rat available. I try to avoid carnivores, in general. Herbivores and omnivores(pigs) make much better food.
Some of the old mountain men thought mountain lion was the best.
I guess that is good!
Yes, I have 18...6 are empty so only 12 and of those, there are 5 other widows.
No one seems to believe anything will happen. Small, walled community but that will not mean much if SHTF!
I wasn't impressed.

Please re-read my post - you are making a false assunmption.
I did not say it was in the bible.
My exact words are:
Remember the old adage: The Lord Helps Those Who Help Themselves
It doesn't hurt to give HIM a little assistance either.
So are the Christians being slaughtered in Africa and the middle east God’ will? Are they just not as faithful as you? A so are being punished for their lack of faith? Or are they being killed by evil men committing acts of evil free will?
I know you didn’t explicitly say that it was in the Bible. You’ll note, though, it’s a statement “about God”. Now ... when we talk about something that God is or does, we only have one way and one way alone to actually know what God is or does or (in a limited human fashion, of course) to know him.
“Human sayings” are not the way we can know anything about God and be assured that it is true.
On the other hand, “God’s Word” is inerrant and infallible, and also by Jesus own Words, he says if you have seen him, you have seen the father. We know the father through Jesus, and Jesus through the Word.
All that to say this ... one cannot have any expectation of truth about God from human sayings ... only through the Word of God. If it’s not in the Bible, one cannot know “that” about God.
That’s the meaning of me saying, “It’s not in the Bible” ... not that you said it or not ... but that not being there, it’s totally unreliable and is simply a human saying, and nothing more.
Apologies to Kartographer - you know the nasty isn’t my usual style, but I hate to see your efforts derailed & information diluted by agenda mongers & trolls,
Star Traveler- What is your point? We all better start worshipping and prepping YOUR way? (which incidentally, you still haven’t mentioned how YOU prep for your family in the food & water sustainability department)
Please enlighten us all.
The only things I’ve seen from you are cut & paste quotes, used not to raise up and encourage, but to denigrate & lord over those who do prepare, or are trying to learn.
So, do you have anything to add to Selco’s commentary, in the context of the original posting of Mac’s blog?
God’s will is of the permissive nature and of the active (and “acting”) nature. The Bible is very clear, absolutely so ... that nothing escapes God’s attention and that he is in ultimate control and that he is all powerful and absolutely nothing can stop his will from being carried out.
ALSO the Bible says that God never does ANYTHING UNRIGHTEOUS and that all his actions are perfectly and 100% righteous (that kind of goes without saying).
Yet we find that God “allows” evil men to carry out evil deeds and kill people (Christians or not). Keep in mind that God has already said that all have sinned and all are deserving of death ... so if God chooses to allow someone to be killed, they were already destined to die by God’s judgement anyway. We’re told in the Bible that the “first death” (our human death) is not something to be concerned about — but that the SECOND DEATH is the one we should REALLY BE CONCERNED ABOUT.
Those that died at the hands of evil ones, died their FIRST DEATH, but those who are Christians are SAVED from the SECOND DEATH and that is what Jesus came for.
The first death comes to all, but the second death does not come to those who have put their faith in the Messiah of Israel, for ETERNAL LIFE. To be absent from the body, in regards to those Christians is to be PRESENT WITH THE LORD - a great blessing.
And in God’s permissive will, in which no one can thwart the will of a God, He is FULLY RIGHTEOUS in all he does.
The evil ones who reject God and his salvation will be punished in the lake of fire, forever and ever for their evil deeds.
My only “stand-alone comment, unsolicited ... was the following ...
“The best prepper is one who is saved by the blood of Jesus, the Son of God and Messiah of Israel!”
Anything else is response to others and some questions being asked too.
If no one commented to me, you would have only seen that one comment above. But just like I reply to you, and you ask a question, likewise I have done with other people here.
And what you said of our Lord is true, by dissent I meant to keep things going.
God more or less said our biggest problem tho, is our mouth.
There’s a time to just, frankly..shut up.
I figure that someone gets one comment with me (by their own choice) and then I get just one comment back in response. I never carry it past that point.
However, if someone chooses to extend it (by their own choice, again) and make a second comment to me, then I figure I get exactly “one” and only one reply in return.
Those are my general “rules of engagement” for a forum.
Okay ... on the advice of a Freeper ... I’m quitting now and packing up ... :-) ...
Now don’t go having a big party and celebrate without me.
I don’t think he is accusing as you say, but simply that sitting and doing nothing is a quicker path to death on this Earth. Many who believed still died on this Earth.
The best prepper is one who is saved by the blood of Jesus, the Son of God and Messiah of Israel!
No argument there!!
