People do not want to watch or think about bad things, people want to forget that, and yes, at the end there comes again that famous it cannot happen to us idea.
Do you really think that when (not if) SHTF events would be much different in your part of the world? Do you think that when collapse happens, you and people around you in your town will be somehow able to organize food distribution, security and safety for residents, and all those criminals and sick bastards will somehow disappear, and there is going to be new better society? Are you under the influence of movies and you think that good guys win almost always and that there is justice and sense in everything?

I like your comment. We are provided with the tools.
Perhaps giving us “Knowledge” would come first and ability to put it into action next!
Post #17 answers it from the Word of God ...
You are of the Devil!
Satan knows the Word quite well.
You’re probably right, first and most important.
So is God responsible for the acts of evil men or are they responsible? If God stops the acts of evil men how is that free will? Or are everyone that is killed by evil men not saved?
Maybe just the ability to seek and understand what we are able to find?
What gifts we have been given!
I’d remember that myself if I was you.
Why come to a thread and sow seeds of dissent?
I seem to remember my Pastor saying that Satan has many minions, and always remember that he knows the verses of the Bible as well as any, after all he was a Cheribum who guarded the Mercy Seat first.
Sadly ironic this article begins with
“People do not want to watch or think about bad things, people want to forget that, and yes, at the end there comes again that famous it cannot happen to us idea. “
I have hope that the Lord will return before things get brutally out of hand, but if things go bad before he comes I plan on fighting like a Viking.
So every Christian who has helped an orphan or the needy is acting contrary to Gods wishes? I don’t think so.
We are to take the resources God gives us and use them wisely, caring for our family and giving charity where we can.
Sometimes that includes fighting like a Viking.
I met a man in the grocery store yesterday who amazed me...,in a 5 minute conversation in produce, each of us started a sentence and the other finished it. I believe this is the first serious prepper I have ever met personally. We finally exchanged only first names, no addresses, and wished each other well...Someday I am going to wish I knew where he was.
Proverbs 1
20 Out in the open wisdom calls aloud,
she raises her voice in the public square;
21 on top of the wall[d] she cries out,
at the city gate she makes her speech:
22 How long will you who are simple love your simple ways?
How long will mockers delight in mockery
and fools hate knowledge?
23 Repent at my rebuke!
Then I will pour out my thoughts to you,
I will make known to you my teachings.
24 But since you refuse to listen when I call
and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand,
25 since you disregard all my advice
and do not accept my rebuke,
26 I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you;
I will mock when calamity overtakes you
27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind,
when distress and trouble overwhelm you.
28 Then they will call to me but I will not answer;
they will look for me but will not find me,
29 since they hated knowledge
and did not choose to fear the Lord.
30 Since they would not accept my advice
and spurned my rebuke,
31 they will eat the fruit of their ways
and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.
32 For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
33 but whoever listens to me will live in safety
and be at ease, without fear of harm.
You are absolutely right.
Unfortunately that is the way we have to be. We’re probably all on the govts list of people for the DHS army to visit.
The scum aren’t going to dissapear on their own, that job is up to people like you and I.
First ... one can be killed by evil men whether saved or not. The difference is that once dead, one goes immediately to be with Jesus (and will return with him when he returns) - or - one is in Hell, awaiting the Great White Throne Judgement of Revelation 20, and then afterwards cast into the “lake of fire”.
In terms of free will, there are limits that God places on it, through His good will and His wisdom and according to His plan. It’s not unlimited and people are both “blocked” and also “encouraged” in another direction. The Apostle Paul made that clear with himself in the he was PREVENTED from doing what his free will wanted, but he then did what God wanted.
God has his ways to overcome and absolutely block free will whenever he wants - as we can well see with Jonah, too.
The Apostle Paul also wrote, by way of God’s word ...
Romans 9
9 For this is the word of promise: “At this time I will come and Sarah shall have a son.”
10 And not only this, but when Rebecca also had conceived by one man, even by our father Isaac
11 (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls),
12 it was said to her, “The older shall serve the younger.”
13 As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”
14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not!
15 For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.”
16 So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.
17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.”
18 Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.
19 You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?”
20 But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?”
21 Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?
22 What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,
23 and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory,
24 even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
God does AS HE WILLS ... regardless of your free will.
And even when God compels the evil which befalls others ... as God compelled evil nations around Israel to do evil to Israel in order to punish Israel — God says he will STILL HOLD THOSE NATIONS ACCOUNTABLE for their evil.
As we are told ... God’s ways are not our ways.
You’re getting a bit excited here ... aren’t you ... :-) ...

Not at all. You’re the one telling everyone they are disobeying God by using the resources God has given us to provide for our families.
You are using the Word to spread false teaching.
THAT is the work of Satan. You have been warned as the Word instructs us to do.
Absolutely right!
Add a random act of kindness at least once every day/365 and the world is a great place to spend time!
The first few months I decided to do this, I received one “gift’ of kindness...now it is at least 2-3 times a week that someone does something thoughtful for me.( yesterday it was a piece of chocolate cake from their Father’s Day dinner!)
Life is wonderful and I never worry about being old any more!
