Anyone feel sad that The Hound was left to die? He was one of my favorite characters, and I could not bear to see him beaten by Brianne. I think they should have at least referred to how weak he was by his previous wound that he would not let Anya ( spoiled, self-centered brat) cauterized. The Hound was always her champion and defender, loyal and even loving in his way. Killing the butcher's boy was because he was following Joffrey's order. And it was his choice, to find and save her sister, and because of that Anya (the user), should have forgiven him and taken it off her death list.
I also felt kind of weepy when Ygritte was on her pyre, her white shoulder and profile so pretty.
"You know nothing, Jon Snow."
I liked the practicality of Mance's position, and how he was easy with Jon Snow, and how they toasted their dead that was from the North.
Stannis army was a big surprise, and the formation of his troops on the overhead shot was spectacular, even though they weren't dressed for the cold weather.
I don't give a fig about Cercei, but doesn't Jamie know she is using him.
What about the Mountain. Is he dead or just mostly dead?
And why did Dany punish the two good dragons? I miss Ser Jorah at her side.
Tyrell dying on the throne.
I look forward to the Tyrion and Pycelle road show.
I made the request to the moderator.
Now let keep having fun.
Brienne should have given Arya that wolf-shaped cake.
My justification is the Hound could easily block his brother’s swings during the 1st season episode. I don’t see Brienne being able to stand up like that to the Mountain.
Arya learned that lesson from the Hound, when he took the money off that man who was dying.
“Do you remember where the heart is?” That plea was so sad.
Maybe Tommen will kill his mom. Killing family seems to be familial trait.
I never seen a show where so many characters die. Keeps it moving and interesting. I will not read the books until the TV series is played out. I want to view each episode without spoilers.
It’s going to be a long time between the next season. Now I will have to read for myself what you have explained.
Martin really is a genius storyteller.
The outcome of the Hound/ Mountain is in doubt because the fight was stopped but you have a valid point.
Again, if the show had followed the book you would have seen Brienne climbing a cliff and throwing boulders down to sink ships that were pursuing her and Jamie. So she’s plenty tough.
I was screaming at the TV last week during the battle at the Wall. Those tracking shots showing movement throughout really made you feel you were there.
I would also like extended scenes and more episodes. And I would really like to be assured that Martin has and end in mind.
bump
Maybe the cast and storylines will have to expand more. I do not think that I can stand any more contraction.
I did not feel anything for Prince Oberon, although, he did remind me of that character in the Princess Bride , “Montoya, Montoya, and I am here to kill you.” I have seem to have a second sense when to avert my eyes when really gruesome things start to happen.
But I would gladly have something awful befall the Ramsey bastard and I am glad sex-starved Lysa and her awful milk-full teats were thrown down the moon door.
The battle at the wall episode was some of the best TV fictional battle ever produced. I stood for the entire episode... I’m sure that’s where the majority of the season’s budget went lol.
I thought that shot of Stannis and the Onion Knight coming into the bay of Braavos was simply stunning with that monumnet of the soldier astride like a colossus between two splits of land.
I barely remember how great I thought the battle of Blackwater was.
I keep telling my husband that even with multi-billion dollar budget, movies like, oh, I don’t know, like The Pirates of the Caribbean, (which also has no discernable storyline) can’t match GoT for drama and imagery.
My motto is he best breasts stay in the cast. Everything else is negotiable.
From a male perspective that is. I did once date a lady with a very nice pairing of mammaries. However I noticed she noticed the other women’s set before I did. I just looked to see where she was looking.
On to Kings Landing and let the dragons fly ahead.
I like the dragon mother and her army, but I know there’s a history in Westeros of slaying dragons. Do I look for her to be defeated in the long run.
LOL “the”
I felt the episode was hurried in trying to close story lines, felt the whole thing was anticlimactic.
But.....
Brianne could never take the Hound, especially if he wasn’t injured. It’s unconfirmed, but that “battle” didn’t take place in the books and it was never made clear that he died either, so think what you will.
No I didn’t get all misty over roasted Ygritte, but I’m a guy, I preferred the cave scene.....
Stannis wasn’t a surprise because the red witch told him he had to be the one. The poor wildlings are trying to escape the white walkers so they are desperate.
Cercei will power grab and thats why Pycelle hit the road with the half man, basically “I’m out”. He knows a major $h!t storm is fixing to hit.
I’m sure what Doc Frankenstein is doing to the Mountain, but his “He’ll be changed” doesn’t sound like a good thing.
Perhaps he’ll be Cercei’s Hodor, ouch, perhaps another man Bran can control.
I liked the Elvis death Tyrell had, couldn’t have happened to a nicer character.
Little Missy is fixing to have problems all around, Dragons, Kingdoms and I want to go back to being a slave people. Mistake tossing your adviser, perhaps he’ll go back and be the Kings hand??? As an FYI, she’s going to be the new Sarah Conner in the Terminator reboot.
Stop Hate’n on Arya, she’s my favorite with vengeance as her operating system. Her trip to find the face changing guy will be an interesting new line.
Bran’s story is the one I’m most interested in, I can’t make you walk again, but you will fly. As long as he doesn’t become captain planet, then that will be interesting.
All I know is it’s a long time till the next season, just glad I’ve got the Walking Dead to look forward to.
Yes, it is Varys, and I remember the parallel of having that evil sorcerer who cut him as a child, was also stored in a box, like Tyrion is.
Well, you do what you know.
What’s so big about being called a whore in this series? Shae called herself a whore. Little Finger is a whore procurer and he got to wed the regent in the vale. Sam put her sweetheart in a whorehouse, thinking she would be safe there.
Your explanation makes more sense, that it was vengeance for his first wife, who really did love him.
Without revealing a major spoiler, Cersei will slowly do herself in by her own bungling as her Son, the King’s right hand. Its going to catch up to her as she realizes that she isn’t as wise or better yet shrewd as her father or anyone else in the Lancaster’s lot
Apparently the Mother of Dragons is not going to let her breasts be shown again.
It’s terrible, but I was actually quite disappointed in them. That’s why nudity takes us out of the story;it becomes not about character but biology. (lol)
Her figure looks much better in clothes.
(Maybe I should delete this remark. Oh, well,..,)
she was not number 1, but hey we take what we can get.
Not only The Walking Dead, but for real laughs, let’s see what Under the Dome has to offer this second season. I found so many plot holes in the first, I found it kind of a hoot.
As you are a guy and prefer the cave scene, I liked the face of the original Jaquen H’Ghar with his streaky-hair and French accent.
