I think Johnny Depp is a narcissistic idiot -- but also a fabulous actor. True, he's gone overboard on the fantasy characters but watch him in Don Juan DeMarco, Secret Window and especially Finding Neverland. Really excellent work.

DDL is absolutely at the top. The guy kills every role. Both Brad Cooper and Christian Bale are rapidly getting there. i have only seen Christian Bale in American Hustle... the other guy who i think is a good actor is Leonardo Dicaprio... i liked him in Shutter Island and Revolutionary Road... i thought he was excellent in both Django Unchained and Wolf of Wall Street... i have never seen Titanic... i will keep my eye open for Christian Bale...

"Where is Leonardo DiCaprio on this list? "The Wolf of Wall Street" did OK, but "The Great Gatsby" was one of the biggest flops in recent memory. How about celluloid eye acid like "Django Unchained" and "Shutter Island"? Real stinkers."
I would definitely agree with you on everything except "Shutter Island". The ending on that threw me and my wife so badly that we had to watch it a second time just to make sure that we understood what was going on. That is the ONLY movie with DiCaprio in it that I can tolerate ... and I still think it's one of the best horror thrillers around that nobody has really heard of.

Watch What's Eating Gilbert Grape to see outstanding performances by both Leo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp.

Concur. Edge of Tomorrow is IMHO a better movie. Although I loved the cloud house and filer in Oblivion.

I can count on two hands the films made after 1995 that Ive seen.
Wow, so you've seen less than 12 movies in all that time?

Edge of Tomorrow was a very clever and well done movie. A cross between a war movie in a science fiction setting and Groundhogs Day.
Cruise is a huge star internationally. He’s not sunk.
Also Clooney just did Gravity a while back. He’s in good shape, too

Useless (but maybe interesting) trivia. The 80's hit song "Twilight Zone" by Golden Earring was inspired by Ludlum's novel The Bourne Identity.

Caught some of “Once Upon a Time in Mexico” the other night, where Depp (playing as a federal agent) says “You savvy?” to Antonio Banderas character.
Made me wonder if Depp brought that phrase from Pirates, as both had 2003 release dates. Which was filmed first? idk.
To: unsycophant
That phrase is a very old popular saying. It was in common use years and years ago. Not sure either took it from the other.

I dunno about anyone else, but when I hear some of the stupid anti American and pro liberal drivel they spew on TB interviews, I just quit watching anything they appear in.
Example: The night I saw Alec Baldwin stand up and say we want to stone Henry Hyde (during Clinton’s impeachment process). I have never watched anything on tv or elsewhere.
As soon as his face appears, I change channels, even if it’s just a commercial.

I really liked Happy Gilmore. Since then it's been the same horrible movie again and again.

Cruise being gay is one of the worst kept secrets in Hollywood. And it’s generally known that if any tabloid prints it he will sue them into oblivion. He’s rich enough to not settle.

Yes, Cruise was Tom Terrific in Jack Reacher.
Also, anytime he runs. Nobody hauls quite like he can, especially in The Firm.
His character evolution in Edge of Tomorrow was Oscar-worthy, at least for a nomination.
I’ll never get tired of him.

“Edge of Tomorrow” is still in the red.
On a budget of $178 million, it has to make $350 million to get in the black.
To: Yaelle
Cruise has been married (at least) twice (to women) and has children...
He’s hiding it pretty good if he’s gay
