What little of her movie career existed, she owed to nepotism. Her uncle was the founder of universal pictures.

i saw Sunset Boulevard at the Orpheum Theatre in San Fran in the late 1990s... Petula Clark of “Downtown,” played the role of Norma Desmond... she was really good... however, i cannot help but think of Carol Burnett’s parody of Norma Desmond whenever the subject arises...
