Harrison Ford has been injured on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. The actor injured his ankle on Thursday, and was taken to a local hospital.
"Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates," said a statement from Disney.
A source tells THR that the actor, who reprises his role as Han Solo from the original franchise, was injured by the door of the Millennium Falcon, the spacecraft that his character pilots in the original films. The spaceship looks to be making a return in the sequel.
Ford, 71, along with the rest of the cast of Disney and Lucasfilm's project, is currently shooting the hotly anticipated J.J. Abrams film in England.
My ideal man is 58 this year. (My husband is 52, but he gets a waiver because he’s my husband, and he keeps his hair really short for sports, so it’s almost like he’s bald.)
Harrison Ford hasn’t done much for me since I got out of my teens, but if you think he’s got it, that’s great.
(((Shiver)))...
ROFL ROFL GOOD ONE!!! In fact I would like to have that in the future. Does it come with a little basket?
I see some very fit old gentlemen at the gym, but it doesn’t mean they turn me on. I just admire them in a daughterly way, and thank them if they’re wearing their hats or shirts mentioning military service.
....became violently ill after reading the script....
LOL !!!!
These days, being in your sixties and seventies is not that old. I do get tired of jokes making fun of senior citizens or suggesting they’re not as capable or as good as younger people because they’ve lived longer. I’m an older personal fitness trainer (started at the age of 52) and I train all ages, but the people I’m the most proud of are my clients in their seventies who worked their way up from couch potato status to running 5Ks. This isn’t directed at you, by the way, Tax-chick, just tacking a comment onto the last post.
Have you seen her lately? She’s now Leia the Hut.
LOL, that’s perfect.
I know someone who would hit it, nevertheless.
I understand. I didn’t mean to imply that a man in his 70s couldn’t be appealing, just that I didn’t see Han Solo, the character, as an old man. (But I’ve had a terrible crush on Dick Cheney for about 20 years!)
I see some very impressive fitness among elderly people (I’m thinking of my parents’ age, 70s) at the county fitness center we use. I think your career is admirable, and you’re justifiably proud of your clients’ accomplishments, and so are they.
I wonder if the Millennium Falcon will be fitting with a Stair Chair and a walk in tub.
... but come on. Whos excited by the idea of a 71-year-old Han Solo?
*******************************
Some men are ‘ageless’ in their appeal .... Sean Connery comes to mind as well.
Now that’s a good point. If he was playing Han Solo, that might work.
BTW, ditto on Dick Cheney. :-)
Maybe it'll come with a Hoveround..............
Thanks, Tax-Chick! I’m proud of them, too! I’ve trained everyone from an Olympic hopeful to an 85 year old woman. I was most proud of the 85 year old woman. :-D
There used to be a “Is it hot it here, or is it Cheney?” ping list, during the Bush administration. Lots of us were sighing over the Veep.
Agreed!!!
Did Harrison Ford blame this on Bush like Obama would?
