I have a confession. I watch Fox weekend programming...some. It's generally when I awaken too early in the middle of the night, and I have to choose between Ninja Blender and Golden Girl reruns. I move over to Fox News hoping to get back to sleep.
Somewhere in the middle of the night last night I bumped into Kurtz' weekly show that initially featured discussion on Bowe Bergdahl. He was helped along by radical liberal Bill Press and liberal Laura Ashburn. Jim Pinkerton was a lone conservative voice in a show reminiscent of every liberal "panel" on other network TV.
How dare Bergdahl's platoon consider him a deserter? (They knew better than those who were there.) How dare conservatives question his father? How dare conservatives think it only realistic that his captors imprisoned him and did not initially trust him? How dare conservatives think Bergdahl was trying to escape only after he figured he might have miscalculated the Taliban instantly falling in love with him.
I've been puzzled all week by Fox running MSNBC commercials. Maybe not so much after Media Buzz in the middle of the night.
And, believe it or not, Kurtz unfairly attacked O'Reilly. There's probably no love lost for O'Reilly on Free Republic, but FR can be fair to the man. Plante and group were all over O'Reilly for suggesting that Bergdahl's dad was coming across as a Taliban sympathizer. I agree with O'Reilly. BergDad did come across as a sympathizer. Lying through their teeth, Plante/Ashworth/Kurtz all stated O'Reilly concluded this based on BergDad's beard.
All of them knew O'Reilly had argued that BergDad went out of his way to look like a Taliban sympathizer because of a stream of Islamic praise in the language of Islam that came flowing out of BergDad's own lips. Adding to that the beard, the public statements, and the advice to his son, O'Reilly came to a conclusion.
But, ignoring all the facts, Kurtz attacked Fox's flagship and lied about it by omission.
This weekend's Media Buzz received an immediate Nielsen rating. I flipped off the TV. Don't watch Media Buzz. It's a waste.
Bergdahl’s Platoon are getting the Swiftboat treatment.
Every military school I ever went to said to trust the guys on the ground, listen to the guys on the ground.
Suddenly, we’re met by a bunch of armchair, air conditioned, thousands of miles from the action, commentators and journalists who say that the guys on the ground have absolutely no idea what happened on the front lines.
And the talking heads do.
I wonder if Americans will swallow the journalists’ swill?
“I wonder if Americans will swallow the journalists swill?”
It depends if Obama steps in an prevents an investigation into Bergdal’s disappearance. If he does, the LIVs will only hear Obama’s side of the story from the LSM, that Bergdahl is a hero.
Finally, they have found a soldier they can stand behind.
Suddenly, they are all experts on military honor and code.
“It’s generally when I awaken too early in the middle of the night”
In theological terms it’s called the “wages of sin” i.e. eating barbecue after 9:00 P.M.. You of all people should know this!!
The media’s stupid portrayal of ‘leave no soldier behind’ is as vacuous as all their other reporting.
They conveniently ignore that at the end of every war that America has welcomed home its POWs. If we have their pie-in-the-sky policy of trading for every POW, then how did we have POWs return home at the end of wars?
He's simply playing the part Alan Colmes used to for Fox, because he looks less of a doofus.
Even worse, Blue...yesterday I had the late night urge that somehow resulted in both sour cream and watermelon being eaten the same evening.
Deadly mixture. :>)
Kurta = Colmes. I can believe that.
But he’s so transparent, and his show (witness last night’s) is SO bad.

Media Buzz is a horrible show. Fox news is useless on weekends. No news at all. Just leftie media whores talking about what interests them.
“late night urge that somehow resulted in both sour cream and watermelon”
I think Kay had that urge just before Dal was born. You have been a Methodist too long. Time to switch over to the true faith...us Baptists.
I didn’t see it, so thanks for the post. I’m glad he’s looking bad, he’s always had an aura of “good guy, honest liberal” that I considered a wrong appraisal of someone so clearly (to me) in the tank for the totalitarian left.
My guess is it's the cable company running those ads, not Fox.
I thought about switching over to Baptist...but my name wasn’t John. Homer the Baptist just doesn’t have the right ring to it.
Kurtz is an operative of the State-Run Media, and always has been. Used to work for the WaPo and CNN.
Fox news is not what it used to be...Howie Kurtz, Juan Williams, Geraldo, et al. have made a huge turn to the left, just like the Wall Street Journal
