Reading the article, the very first comment from a reader, read in part:
"If it ever should come to war, the first thing what China Will do is confisticating and seize all properties and factories of those Western companies and multinationals. "
I completely agree. 100%. Bring back American production.
Now.

Bring back American jobs.
Oh yes...and let's get rid of unions. The people have to speak up on that one.
“Stop building up China.
Bring back American jobs.”
The extinction of the dinosaurs is a good analogy here. The prevailing theory is that a meteor, a disaster, in other words, changed the world’s weather and the dinosaurs died out as a result. Think of a corporation as an organism and the balance sheet as its sensitivity to the weather. A natural disaster, or in this case, many natural disasters, have struck the US. Incomprehensible environmental “regulations” created by the EPA and Machiavellian labor laws, OSHA, taxation and state and local regulations and fees have combined into one huge meteor strike against business. The conditions that made companies prosperous have been wiped out locally. So, unlike the dinosaurs, who couldn’t easily move to a different continent where conditions were better, companies have either moved to a better climate or died out. Over a million companies with many millions of good paying jobs have left for nicer climates.
To bring those companies back you’d have to improve the climate. You can’t just make the meteors smaller as they have agendas and companies know that if those organizations still exist they’ll wait for better times (a Democratic controlled government) and they’ll be back as bad or worse than ever.
Just saying “bring back jobs” isn’t going to work any more than clicking your heals together. You have to change the conditions that made companies leave in the first place.
I’m just saying, all of the American companies which have offshored American manufacturing, no longer actually own their own manufacturing.
America no longer owns, our own manufacturing.
China is about to pass America, in production, if they haven’t already.
Wake up poeple. We have become almost asleep. Dreaming only of yet more offshoring.
America bring back production, right here to America.
Both of our parties are completely asleep about the threat this presents to America.
Our own political parties, are both selling out America.
Bring back American jobs.
“Our own political parties, are both selling out America.”
I was thinking after I hit “post” that I have never heard anybody say anything about reducing the burden of government. The purpose of any bureaucracy, like cancer, is to grow larger. Industry and government are part of a closed system. More of one means less of the other. But the “fun” of being an elected official is to have power. If you, the elected official, were to cut down the size and impact of government then you’d have less power. It’s the same reason we’ll never have a flat tax. Every line of the voluminous tax code represents dollars in the pocket of whichever politician got those lines into law.
You can’t bring back jobs until you change the environment. American Plating, in Mexico, is within walking distance of the US border. I’ll wager there are darned few plating facilities in the US because of the EPA. It’s not that they spill chemicals into the ground water, it’s that they MIGHT. As you drive South from LA you’ll see millions of dollars worth of copper cables going your way. Just across the border are two coal fired electrical plants that could never be built in California. They have no lines going into Mexico. All the money goes into Mexico and they were probably financed by the US taxpayer too.
No, you can’t just “bring jobs back.”
Oh, and then there are all those trade treaties ceding our sovereignty so that we can never enact tariffs.
One does not rise in American politics without the blessing of the international financial cartel, which is profiting handsomely from the status quo. Mere "voters" aren't going to have any impact on that status quo, because they will never be offered candidates with the will or the power to change it. Stop listening to Obama's Socialist mouth and watch what he actually does. He likes to provoke huge controversies with his brand of social liberalism, but he never crosses the bankers - on anything.
World wars can perhaps change international orders...sometimes. Short of that, those of us who are stuck in the declining USA of 2014 will simply have to make the best of it - and strive to be prosperous and create value on a local level. We aren't going to do it as assembly line workers for MegaCorp International, and local governments keep making it harder to run small businesses. But that is where the real battle must take place - corrupt mayors and city councils need to become scared to death of the ire local citizens, and then some legitimate economic growth can resume.
The US Senate will never be scared of the citizens. They know they don't work for us.
“I submit that at this point the macroeconomic environment cannot be changed”
I tend to agree. I had my hopes in the Tea Party, but when they chose Rubio, as one example, I realized any real change was unlikely. (BTW, Rubio says he’ll run for president if asked. You want to bet somebody asks?)
Thanks, I get so sick and tired of the same old mantra of “Bring back American jobs” and/or “Buy American”. These overly simplistic, “feels good” expressions don`t even begin to address the underlying reasons WHY jobs left America. You may as well just say “Click your heels thrice and say, there`s no place like home”.
Sorry you believe that bringing back American jobs is “a same old mantra of Bring back American jobs”.
Bring back American jobs.
