Coke is it.
“One, Two, Three”
Geez, that reminded me of Lilo Pulver, the Coke executive’s secretary! I had such a crush on her then, especially when she gave up her dress to rescue the East German.
Someone mentioned “Sinalco”. I recall if you asked for a “Spetzi” you got Coke with lemon added.
BTW I think the ad shown is legit.
That’s what I thought, too. ‘Coke is it’ wasn’t a slogan until the past few decades. Also, the eagle at the angle looked too hip. I don’t doubt Coke was there selling their elixer but I doubt that was a genuine ad. IMBW . . .
Not that American companies didn’t make money off the Nazis but advertising from that era had a certain feel.
LOOK MOM!! A Somali Pirate!!
Yeah, looks that way.
It appears FR’s collective BS Detector is on the ‘fritz.’
There are other "German" Coca-Cola "ads" at the jump but this is the only image with a swastika.
The Coca-Cola logo/font is very rough. The copyright/trademark notice after it is blurred beyond recognition (and too large for the font on that poster).
The bottom font looks like a Swiss/Helvetica font which I though was more of a post-war European thing.
The whole design looks "off" (the olympic rings in that usage seem more of a post-70s thing).
I don't know if Coca-Cola got political for socialists in the 1930s but I do know that Pepsi Cola did in the 2000s.
That is probably the first early pic from Hawaii that doesn’t appear to be ‘shopped ,, the flash shadows and contrast washout appear correct ,, the background looks correct with the right type grass and large plumeria plants... Halloween at age 6/7?? Stanley Ann doesn’t appear to be wearing a wedding ring...
My first reaction was dismay that Coke was in well enough with Adolf to get away with using such a primary Nazi slogan to advertise sugar water.
The whole article is a ripoff a 2011 blog post. Down in the comments, Norbert fingers the first image as fake, and Hendrick notes that the "Faker should have known its 'Getränk', not 'Getrank'".
Ah but Pepsi DID pick up the Obama mantras of Si Se Puede *Yes We Can”, HOPE, etc...
Some corporations DO buy into liberal utopian wetdreams.
Du hast recht.
