It’s really been a bad year for our gardening. The only thing standing proud is the pepper crop.

Loosing the lemons hurt. I’ve been trying to get lemons for about 6yrs. Last year was our first and only lemon out of 2 trees.

I am thinking of taking next year off and just building the soil and letting it rest. The very few tomatos we have, I lean to picking them and pulling the stalks up and laying in the compost, giving it plenty of time to work, then adding more next winter.

Hubby used a bunch of 5 gallon buckets this year to let his tomato patches rest. They are doing well so far.

My tree is still small enough that I can bring it in or out pretty easy. So far, we have not had critters that bothered it on our back patio, so I am happy with the 6 or 8 lemons we get twice a year.

I am sure that it is root bound and in need of a transplant to a larger pot though.
