Hug your cat is one of those seeming pleasing straightforward holidays. Quite simply, it's a day which cat owners everywhere are encouraged to hug their cats.

I’ve taught my Siamese cat, Mr. Montgomery to give me hugs. I’ll tell him to “give me a hug” and he’ll leap from the floor into my arms and chest. I give him a kitty treat as a reward. So now he frequently ambush hugs me, not on command, because he equates the hugging business with receiving treats.

My cat lived to 21 as well... she was the best cat ever, adopted from the feed warehouse of the local Agway as a 5 week old kitten... turned out to be a grand old lady.

We still have not established “who rescued WHO?” though.
